This YT channel will be used to peddle my 8/16 bit warez, mainly for #c64 and #amiga, although other machines may be covered. Expect some PC stuff too.
I've already been tinkering with PET versions of the cars. I need to get my real PET 2001 refurbished though for testing. I've not switched it on for over 20 years... i.ibb.co/yqwcxW1/orpet.png
I wish I had had this version compared to the 1986 Mindscape version and the U.S. Gold version from 1988. Congratulations, you did a great job, you absolutely have to finish it👍👍👍👋
The first time I saw this project, I thought it was based off of Martin's work on the C64, judging by the way how it looked and moved. Just by watching the credits in this video, it further confirms it. It's an AWESOME tribute to his work, and I'm really liking the progress of this project so far, especially with the music. The soundtrack is not only accurate and fully rendered from the arcade's soundtrack, but they're SO MUCH BETTER than Jason Brooke's renditions (in my opinion), and I'm so glad that a SID rendition of my favorite OutRun track, "Cruising Line", is on this version of the game! I wish y'all the best regards with the project, and I hope you guys can get this out whenever possible, because I'd love to try this out when it releases. I could even imagine something like this on the ZX81 or the Commodore PET (minus the music, ofc). Cheers!
Awesome! Cool stuff with just the PETSCII character set! As this is a PETSCII game already, it shouldn't be too difficult to implement this for a Colour-PET (a Commodore PET modified for RGBI colours), using userport joysticks, and potentially a SID?
I've already been asked about and will probably port to Plus/4. A PET version isn't out of the question and I have already converted the cars to green and black!
Quando pensi che si è superato il limite, ecco che il supera il limite del limite.. solo applausi e standing ovation per chi crea e ama come non mai ancora oggi sul C64.
Actually only now I realized you did Amiga stuff also. Any chance to interest you to jump on a new Amiga OCS Outrun port after you are done with this game? 😅 I have some tech ideas outlined still all my Amiga coder friends are mostly just into demo scene making so I am hunting high and low for a collaborator. Or at least someone to bounce some tech ideas for feasibility validation with.
I only have the PETSCII charset available to me and I've tried every combination you can imagine and what you see is just about the best. The 'slant' lines of PETSCII are the wrong angle for the road when it's straight, to say nothing about when it curves!
@@aNdy_AL_C0S As of today, I have managed to compress the ingame music down to 9.8K so more space for game data now! Considering the two Jason Brooke tunes as awful as they sound were just under 5K and I have all 3 full length tunes in around twice the memory. 😀
Thanks! Thought white would be nice for a change. Plus it makes things nice and bright, generating a feel-good factor. At least in my head it does! ;-)
This is wicked. Are you releasing it on Itch or out properly? Sure peeps would hand over some cashola - I sure will! Just checked the description and here was I waiting for it to turn into "Passing Breeze"... 🤣
This was done using a native C64 tracker that I coded. Have you not seen aNdy's other video with my conversion of Passing Breeze? He has captured a video my editor in full playback mode using Vice emulator: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FbZfTasWMS8.html
