He's still really good looking. Actually his voice isnt that high, and he doesnt sing really high notes.. Vocally he holds back a bit(most of the time) so it sounds very light. He's not a high tenor like michael jackson was ,but he can still sing well.If you hear him speak,i think hes actually a baritone, who is singing in a light way without yelling.
I played this on the radio the other for someone as a request,, I had no idea of the song but I love it so much and presumed listening he must be black American ,, no idea he was British ,,,, such a tune ❤
His voice is flawless. True artist. Wish they'd put more reverb on the live synth parts. These days they can do that without the challenges of trying to do this live in 1985.
I'm not saying this sounds bad (it doesn't), but let's not pretend that it does justice to the original studio recording. If you're a Gen Z'er and you haven't heard it, i strongly recommend that you go listen to it.
Never thought his voice would sound the same many many years later. never knew who this was but the movie "hot tub time machine" had this in it so i looked up the soundtrack to the movie and found out who it was. Heard this tune years ago but only rememberd some lyrics of the song.
An acquaintance of mine, a musician, called the 80s the "lost decade," but that holds true only for the United States: Influenced by this band The Smiths arose to change pop music in the UK.
