Hey! It’s diy stack from old cymbals I had lying around. It’s not an official stack sold. Most of the stacks I build are out super cheap entry cymbals I have and usually get me close enough to be happy. Hoping at some point to get a Meinl stack for the clap thing and then need a China or even an ozone for a nice trash drive cymbal. 😊
Hey! Yes! 😊 I didn’t like how the mics were being processed live. If I was processing them to my liking then I wouldn’t care and would love it 😂 but as you know, the end result is a balance of the player and engineer. So rather than fight what I didn’t like about how it was being processed I went back to the Audix because he seems to let it be fuller sounding naturally because of the proximity effect of a dynamic capsule. I gave it a 2 month run to see if it would “improve” but it didn’t so I went back for live. When I track drums for a client though I will use the Earthworks. 🙏🏼
Yes I have owned it for 7 years now and never regret it. They absolutely super robust. They were very popular in the broadcast world back when it was sold new. They were $6,000 for the 8 channels. Very similar components that the $6,000 grace pre’s have. No different in high end quality. The noise floor is not a thing with this unit. Stupid amount of very clean gain. 😊 I believe 80db of gain. I will NEVER sell it and if anything would mind to own another one.
Exciting! You are gonna love it! 😊 it’s crazy because you think of them as a clean sounding mic pre , however, there’s still something special happening for sure with the two transformers in the circuit. Anything so run through it love the capture. Very natural sounding.
@@eddyvilar wow man that’s so great to hear. I’m reading up on the manual, it really has a lot to offer! The manual suggests 1u of space between units. Do you go by that rule as well??
Thank you so much! 😊 That specific kit is a 1970’s Yamaha Tour Custom. I don’t use it much these days since I have 2 Yamaha recording customs so I’m actually trying to sell the tour custom if you happen to know anyone interested near Nashville, TN 😊🙏🏼
Hey! 😊 We actually have her stems so we use it from that. I’m not sure if our MD got it from multitracks.com or not but Catherine and her husband were at our church last year and we played that song live with her so I wouldn’t be surprised that we got the tracks during that visit. 🙏🏼
Hey thanks for checking in. 😊🙏🏼 Forgive my interpretation issues but unfortunately I don’t know that I understand your statement if you don’t mind rephrasing. 🙏🏼 Are you saying I virtually sound like everyone else? 😊 Just wanted to double check.
@@darz3829 Is he in a garage? also, if two drummers play the same groove chances are it’s gonna sound the same…. This is a very rock heavy groove. Go watch some of his other vids. You have no idea what you’re talking about. I bet you can’t even play. You were probably the last kid to be put on a team in gym class I bet too. You probably are still playing on a beginner Tama Club kit, with like 2 inch cymbals. Let’s see you keep that kick pattern that tight buddy. Move on. 😮
😊 thanks! I use Remo Pinstripes in the Tom batter and the Remo clear ambassadors on the Tom reso. Kick is a Remo P3 clear batter and p3 reso. Snare is a Evans 300 reso side and lately I have been using a Remo P4 with a clear dot by I normally use a Remo P77 coated for the batter.
Mic wise, I use a Shure beta 91 inside the kick and Audix d6 at the sound hole for the low end. Snare top I fell in love with a Shure KSM8. I love sm57’s but the ksm8 is like a perfected sm57 to me but obviously more expensive lol…. Overheads I am using a Shure ksm137. Toms I have literally used all Audix D4’s for years and love the sound but about 3-4 weeks ago started using a condenser mic called an Earthworks DM20. I love condensers on Toms. 😊
@@eddyvilar thanks Eddy! Please keep doing your thing. Your content is one of the best out there, its just a matter of time. Maybe suggestions you can look at improving your title & description. Lastly, for mixing I'm guessing you guys using behringer or midas I'm curious what's your mixing board for all these crisp sound?
@Oyeah635 😊🙏🏼 Our church uses a Behringer Wing. However believe it or not the audio you are hearing is a stere mix off of an extra Behringer p-16 mixer that our band uses for our in ear mix. I then beef up the stereo mix in post. I’m an audio engineer and drummer as a profession so I stay busy with both. As much as I wish I could give RU-vid full attention, I have so many other things to put my focus into that I don’t much time. Uploading these videos the way I do is all the time I have at the moment. In fact, I only allow myself to upload these videos to all social media sites during my treadmill time at the gym since my hands are free. 😂😂😂 it’s my way to challenge myself to sneak in uploading because that in itself can take 20-30 minutes amongst all platforms I use. 😊 Thanks for the feedback and for taking your time out of your day to reach out. 🙏🏼
