That's shocking. I really don't think most people realise this can happen and I've never heard a warning being broadcast at a station. Perhaps though the trains should slow down if they are passing an in use platform or there should be a staff member on the platform.
Great idea, hold on a moment, how much would it cost? Reduce ticket prices and people might make the switch that's providing there's a railway station where they want to go of course. To make our railways really useful we need to look at reinstating some of the lines closed since the 60's wherever possible. So we need trains that go where they're wanted and at a reasonable cost - simple.
Used to love this belting along in a 1st gen unit, quite exhilarating with the state of the track & the train swaying from side to side. Now I think they should split it at Llandovery & run separate trains from West Wales & from Chester. It's too long on a train without refreshments.
If you don't like the music, turn the sound off, the videos are just as enjoyable without sound. lf you haven't discovered Dan Coffey's videos I recommend them, train sounds and lots of information.
