I've been coming across a lot of videos explaining *how* these different items are used, but not *why* they are incorporated into poultry production. This was just the video I needed to wrap my head around it all.
Really good video. I eat alot of chicken and they are better taken care of me. We cant feed the whole united states with free range chicken, a chicken would be $100, I would eat it once a year. Leave me the well ventilated is always spring chikens😂😂...The only thing I was not clear about was humidity in summer time, they were doing evaporative cooling, intruducing humid air inside, how they get rid of it? Dehumidifiers?
It is very difficult to control moisiture during hot weather. We offset the negative impact of high RH by providing high air exchange rates (less than a minute) and air speeds over the birds of 600 ft/min or better.
In milder/warmer weather, I.e.outside air is 5-6 degrees cooler than the inside shed temperature, what air speed do we need when on minimum ventilation?Obviously not as fast air speed as when it’s cold, but in this case, 2/3 the speed? 1/3 the speed? E.g cold outside temperature, air speed from mini vents 4-6 m/s (depending on shed width), for milder outside temperatures, 2.5-4m/s?
If it is 5-6 cooler outside than it is inside then the house should be in inlet ventilation not tunnel ventilation. Minimum ventilation is the lowest ever level of ventilation...the lowest allowable...and therefore chances are the house would not be operating in minimum ventilation mode but rather inlet mode. Air speed generated by the inlets will vary with how many exhaust operating.
There are two ways of positioning circulation fans, pointing to the roof ( pushing air up) or vertically ( pushing air along the length of the brooding area). Could you explain the difference and advantages/disadvantages of both
My god you have a PhD and you cannot see that the mechanism of agriculture you promote has created the problems you think you can solve😅 No animal should live like this. I keep chickens free range, not to this extent. But you sir are a Nazi running a concentration camp and saying you understand science. A childs logic would piss on your PhD with basic primary school education. GFYS.
Excellent, Very Educational. I Wasted My 37 Most valuable years driving a taxi in "the most racist"and "murder capital of the world" Chicago especially The Daley and Rahm Emmanuel administrations.
I understand where people come from who only like pasture raised but you can’t feed hundreds of millions of people from pasture raised only. Unfortunately I think this is rather necessary.
Humane? You obviously don't understand birds. Not only that if you want to help quit eating chicken, that will help ensure a market that is collapsing (food) will continue and ultimately fail. If I was you I would look into the dunning-Kruger effect. That should help you understand the future as well as the past
