I love racing building cars and reviewing parts and products. I am currently involved in SCCA rallycross, Ultimate Street Car Association, and Vtec Club.
It’s easier to just drain it cold, measure the fluid drained, refill that exact amount. This ain’t the space shuttle. The funny thing is Subaru doesn’t even service these things. Very strange 🤔
How do I stop the looseness of the shifter while it’s in gear. How do I make it stiffer while in gear. It’s not loose side to side because I installed a shifter stop. I now want the forward and back slop to be at a very minimum. Any suggestions? Thank you
Just want to say ..After 3 or 4 hours trying figure out how am gonna do to remove this filter cap.. and bitching through the air about it..I found your video and worked at first time .. that’s smart from you … so Thank you Buddy!
I have a friend that has an 18 legacy with the 2.5. She has had 2 different acquaintances try to change her engine oil and both ended up draining the trans fluid. After watching this video I'm perplexed as to how.
Ya dude! In-laws car driven by the groom=hood, bumper, headlight assembly. This was the only way to open to scope out. Off to Kenny-U-Pull!Me fix thanks to you!
Did top Highlander hinge. Cut my pin with hackzall, didn't damage the hinge! Bottom half of pin just fell & I pressed the top of it out with a bolt & washer inserted from bottom, using vice grips over the hinge to avoid spreading it :)
My 2001 gs300 has a stuttering issue. I've replaced the spark plugs, the coil packs, and the MAF Sensor but my car still gives me a rough launch. Usually the first start is fine, it feels like the car has no issues. After a short drive around my street, when I try to accelerate the car has crazy hesitation anywhere below 2500 RPMs then gets up and goes. I have no codes besides a knock sensor code (p0325), not even a misfire code.
Will this going bad cause low power or hesitation in acceleration? Also do the left and the right cylinder head run the same timing advance and retard ... while engine is operating ?
You stated that in America, the right hand side is the drivers side. NOT SO! Right and left are determined when seated in the drivers seat, looking forward. Therefore, right hand side is passenger side.
This is so crazy. I have a 2020 with only 36k miles and a Grimmspeed intake. I thought it couldn’t be a vacuum leak the car is still pretty relatively new for its mileage, it couldn’t be the 02 or MAF and when you rotated the filter and saw the numbers I was blown away. I immediately went and took out my filter and gave it a good clean and used another side and bam code cleared. For safety measures I went ahead and got a K&N filter for the quality. Thank you so much for this video. I was starting to stress but not no more. Gotta keep them filters clean!
Some of the transmissions will have a Torx T45 for the filler plug. Subaru has the wrong part number on their part's guide and will send you the wrong part even if you give them your VIN. To get the right one, take your plug with you and they will replace with the plug with the 8mm hex.
I would of grinded down that seal to fit the flange or reuse the old seal if I could.when you tighten the whole thing up that seal will conform to any deformities.
I have no fault codes on my Toyota Yaris 1.0L (2004), new spark plugs new air filter cleaned throttle budy cleaned PCV tested TPS checked vapor solenoid clean MAF sensor tested camshaft position sensor checked ignition coils - but still have some vibration on idle and hesitation after fast/sharply pressing the gas pedal (hesitation from idle to 1500-2000 rpm, like if the engine is choking), but if I give gas smoothly - the engine normally gains speed and power.... also no luck of power from 2000 to 7000 rpm.
@nxtgen2b416 you could, but this particular example was not a slip-fit, as advertised. And if the flawed flange was used, it would have fatigued the exhaust system and caused a fracture or break somewhere from all the engine movements. It is not a true bolt-on application. It can be chopped welded and additional parts added to make it work, but what's the point ya know?
I drained my CVT 2017 OB. Last CVT was changed back @65k miles. Now it’s almost 101k miles. The fluid coming out is like yours, like dark orange/red. My question is, how many qt of CVT did you put in to temporary flush the remaining red/orange fluid?. I only have 8 qts of green cvt. Can I only put 2 qts then idle the car with gear shifting to park/d/r ? I don’t want to use too much since I don’t know If I’ll have enough qts to finish the job?
