some places were just perfect for a wrestling t.v. show. That little hole in the wall studio they filmed WCW Saturday Night in, the Impact Zone, the Asylum in Nashville, the Manhattan center for early Raws, ECW arena early on, the Sportatorium in Dallas. People might think I'm just naming every place but I'm not. I didn't include the casino AWA was filmed in or even the studio they filmed Memphis wrestling in (even though it was still a great format the crowd was placed in a lame way and the Mid South Coliseum shows were where the magic was at).
As a kid growing up in Oregon in the 80s, I loved our Blazers! And, Terry Porter was my guy, as I played basketball all the time with friends, and was usually always the smallest person on the court. So, I always looked up to Terry as my inspiration of being able to dish it out to the all the bigger guys on the court! I not crashing the boards or powering through the key, but I'll make you pay if you leave me open at range!
Nord the barbarian was the only wrestler that Frank goodish/ Bruiser Brody would allow and give permission to use the word HAASS because he knew the world 🌎 needed 2 Bruiser Brody's ❤ HAASS HAASS HAASS HAASS.
As far as I know Bruiser Brody never works for Don Owens. He didn't care for the climate here in Oregon. The closest we got to Bruiser Brody was Nord the barbarian as far as I know. I could be wrong.
I was never a fan of babyface Rip Oliver but I was in attendance for this the crowd was extra lively. We hauled butt back across the river to the house in Vancouver just so I could watch on TV lol
Rip was supposed to be a logger in Oregon around this time, so the babyface role made sense. It works in the Northwest, but don't expect it to work nationally and globally though. It's a very localized character to say the least.
