@@Shugunou In what way was Mad Dog's characterisation in the original version integral to Zane's arc in any way? The answer is it wasn't. Mad Dog's role in the episode's plot was just to be a strong opponent that pushes Zane to his limits, and makes him discard his previous philosophy. Whether or not he's a boring generic bad guy with no personality, or a beloved meme character that puts smiles on the faces of thousands of viewers is ultimately irrelevant to how this duel shapes Zane's character arc. So yes, making him actually memorable was a good change.
Considering that this is one of the darker episodes I wouldn't be surprised if the 4kids localizers were specifically tasked with finding a way to lighten the mood.
Yeah, I was grateful for a way to keep Arden in the action, without him being attacked by Alear early. I was originally just planning to wear Alear down with AoE chips, and eventually finish him off when his allies were still around, but I managed to get him to leave the battle to chase Dorcas, before I ever figured out how to chip him enough times for that
Menace was what I forgot about until this clear, on account of Panic Smoke 4 being so good. The AoEs are solid as boss killing tools though, if you can afford not to have healing on your special

I stopped watching the anime as a kid because this character was so cringe. I intend to watch it again one day but I hope this character doesn't show up again. T_T
Nahhh I was watching this episode in subbed yesterday after YEARS of not watching GX which I originally watched in dub. And I completely forgot that this is his legit voice in the dub 😭 I thought this was pulled from the abridged series or something.
My first thought was, "why can he fly", then I remembered how broken the new ring thingies after seeing the little Celica icon. Otherwise, it was really fun, and the music was lit.
I keep forgetting about Lilith's insane jumping capabilities. Honestly, it's mostly just that one sword cav on the right that messes this up. Anyway, glad you were able to figure it out!
I always get good mileage out of Fallen Lilith on open maps like this. There were a few annoying enemies on this one tbh. I think the two greens who spawn on Turn 3 were the worst. Getting them to go after Arden was a challenge.
Nicely done! I was trying to do the Ashera one, but (again) keeping the team out of harm's way always seems to be the tricky part (so far the best I've been able to do is 3 turns, with Arion providing Charge for the other fliers to keep them away from certain reinforcements).
Damn, I've not seen you for years. Hope you've been doing well all this time. And yeah, the game is practically unrecognisable now lol. Idk how they're going to top the skill Arden used to do that, but I'm sure they'll find a way
