A young Patsy Palmer too 🙂 this show helped me get through the morning before going to school growing up i could only ever watch it until 8am then had to record it on vhs tape and watch the rest when i got home there is still nothing like this show darn i miss the 90s 😒😔
just recently started listening to the rollers again after many many years. i didn't realize my 12 year old self really did have an ear for talent. i had no idea eric was a multi-instrumentalist. his ease with a guitar is reminiscent of my late partner who was a prodigy but never had a music career. they introduced me to punk via rebel rebel and i never looked back. listening to the rollers today i think eric's guitar work i think the roller's version is better than bowie's.
They were a great band, and what a fabulous voice Ben had. So good to hear the song again - it's beautiful, as was the whole album. It must be hard getting back down to earth after such early success and what such a fickle business exposes you to.
16 Pages long….Their submission was so crap, the IBA offered them a second chance. Southern brought it upon themselves and their eternal reward was having their namesake region striped from them.
23:12 Exactly how we all feel about getting a job today George.... except you have to try and survive without making money and getting rejected regularly.... so consider yourself lucky.
Bit at the start where Eric had a house at brixet on hill and recording studio had gone to the beach, came across a man who was going to commit suicide and eric said try being in the rollers, made the paper.yes eric took too many pills never made it to bed to sleep p before an interview so Tam called press, didn't care about them.the anerican woman Caroline wanted to sleep with one of them,so bitter ever since, just a gang, now writes books, all it is.
Felly was a good dancer.. but Ya Kid K was sooo cool and authentic.. The Record companies were so stupid, at least she finally got her due. the Lives on Arsenio and SNL were great.
her face kinda dropped when he called her “Kyle” - didn’t it? Mr Top Of The Pops, indeed! as he would have said… well, that was quite the workout indeed wasn’t it.. but they were lip-syncing to the record I guess - but I personally didn’t care much for the odd little stage, totally over-crowded with lighting gew-gaws, the kids flanked with two tall guys - who looked a bit silly in ‘cycle jackets doing those arm and hand-rolling moves…
It’s Toad from X-men the movie! Oh ya I guess he was in Star Wars too…haha. He didn’t get to say much in either movie, actually I guess he didn’t talk at all in Star Wars.
