Superb resentation. I appreciate the first speaker's knowledge about modules and the failure modes that can happen, as well as the failure rates that operations and maintenance might plan for. I also appreciate a second speakers synopsis of solutions for counteracting potential induced degradation, which can easily be solved by grounding the negative pole of the plant. I would have appreciated more discussion about what the impacts of grounding the positive pole of the plant would be in terms of potential induced degradation, but I would imagine that it would only make the issue worse. I'm not sure why I've seen some configurations like that in utility scale applications. Thanks for the talk, hope to tune in more

Question: Have end use scenarios already been analyzed? Specifically as a local producer/user plus storage and transmission or grid tie? This would assist in understanding potential on a number of levels producers, local users and for planning and integration in different markets i.e. vehicle - transportation and logistics, local networks for “hot-flip” usage, costs and/or charge times in transport. Thank you.
France has made billions selling dispatch power from their nuclear fleet. To keep the European grid from failing on insanely excess intermittent. In fact, France threatened Britain with embargoing critical power balancing from their fleet. Yes, the insane and dangerous British electrical grid will fail without it. France needs failed intermittent wind and solar like a war. What a load of corruption.

Excellent interview! Mr Andersson has provided one of the best insight into the battery storage segment. One point should have been addressed and that is grid constrains which are making the connection of new battery storage projects, both stand alone or co-location, quite lenghty in terms of time scale. Overall well done Edwin for yet another great addition to your contents.

I think another question needed to be asked regarding the grid infrastructure and what reinforcement works are planned in order to accomodate the additional amount of electricity that will be produced by renewable source once the projects go live
Great point Esa, thank you for your comment! The grid operators should be aware that due to the incentives for more renewable energy in Portugal there is a lot of energy expected to be absorbed into the grid. That is certainly one of the reasons we are hearing more about storage, but we also wonder what concrete measures are REN and ERSE committing to in order for the grid to maintain its efficiency in Portugal. We also expect to have some lessons learned from the experience of the grid in Spain with REE. Something to keep an eye out and a topic we will explore in future interviews!

Well done. I would suggest for future work, more research and discussion on LCOE versus CAPEX and OPEX in isolation. Also, average prices are quite meaningless when not regrouped by scale. It would be important to show LCOE for *Pilot scale* (10 to 1 M), *Small scale* (1 to 10 MW), *Medium scale* (10 MW to 100 MW) and *Large Scale* (100 MW and up). My take is that floating solar has the greatest potential for scaling to the Large and Very large (over 500 MW) scale and that in that class, we expect LCOE lower that ground mount, so less that 1.5 c/kWh by 2025. The most attractive applications will be with technologies that can last the life of a hydro dam, so GPEKS sponsors and helps finance technologies that use metal structure and leverage on ship building experience and other marine applications that have been in service for over 50 years. Hi, RE projects are mostly PPA based, so in the RE based grid era there would no negative electricity prices though curtailment would be high. and current negative prices pattern wont match of coming era.
