I would have loved to have seen Emma play in her England shirt at Wimbledon. However I think there is too much colour in the shirt for Wimbledon, even though it is mostly white.
As Scottish person watching this. I am not biased and I would like to state that I think Raducanu is clearly a very young talented Tennis player who has a bright future ahead of her however the injuries and the pressure from the media have clearly got to her. I still don’t know why she pulled out from the doubles match with Andy Murray I feel it was somewhat disgraceful and her decision however, she has to learn for the future consequences that sometimes impact someone’s reputation and I think what she needs to do is about that back up again at a slow steady pace.

As a previous commentator has said, there were no mixed doubles played last Saturday. (check the results) Did the organisers really expect Emma to have to play two matches on the same day! Very bad organisation, no wonder she pulled out. She certainly is not a "brat" as you call her, her interview proved that. Pure class as usual, and showing total respect to Sun. (And also to Judy Murray, who really doesn't deserve it after her "astonishing" comment)
The plain truth is shes not as good as she thinks she is and the other girl easily outplayed her. She is a covid champion in other words won against wyalifier cis all the real champions did not turn up. She has plummeted in the ratings fur to her inconsistent play.
"Plummeted in the rankings" What planet are you on? After her recent wins at Wimbledon, Nottingham, Eastbourne, Stuttgart etc.Emma will soon be ranked in the top 100. Pretty impressive when she started the year around 300.
Sun was just so solid and powerful. Hopefully Emma can build up her strength to better take on this level of relentless power with less risk of injury. She also needs to raise her net volley skills on grass. The best grass court champion's have the full range of techniques in there repertoire, but she's currently too reliant on baseline skills.
Nope missed opportunity, particularly with Coco losing. Don't be fooled, her mindset was different. Emma has proven herself to be a one slam wonder. She fluked the open win and now can't win anything. And to top it all she dumps Andy and ends up looking like a selfish brat. If she'd played with Andy and then lost the next day in the singles everyone would have felt sorry for her but now we all just focus on her lack of tennis ability. Whomever is advising her is doing a bad job.
"Fluked the Open" How many times does it have to be said, she played 10 matches, 3 more than the usual 7, won everyone in straight sets not eleven a tie-break. Some fluke! It was an amazing achievement acknowledged by those at the top of the game. "Selfish brat" Andy is the selfish one, already had his big farewell sent off, how many more does he want. So Emma lacks tennis ability does she. really! Did you watch her recent play at Wimbledon, Eastbourne, Nottingham and BJK Cup. If you did then you haven't got a clue what you are talking about!
@@davidthomas-ot4cl So Emma is a "loser" is she, after her recent great wins, beating two top 10 players! Including Jessica Pegila ranked No 5 who Emma beat at Eastbourne. If you still insist her US Open was a fluke, I suggest you watch the replays,still available on RU-vid, and then reply and explain how she fluked each one please. As for the mixed doubles comment, Emma made the right decision, no mixed doubles were played on last Saturday due to the backlog of rain delays Did they really expect her to have to play two matches on the same day. Andy is a great champion, and as a fellow professional he would appreciate the position that Emma found herself in.

He probably won't make a public statement, Judy has probably told him not to, she doesn't want to look any more stupid after her "astonishing" comment. Emma and Andy are good friends, they would obviously have had a conversation, and it's just as disappointing for Emma, as it was a childhood dream to play doubles with Andy. She even suggested it at Wimbledon two years ago, Andy said he was up for it, but unfortunately it never happened. Did Andy pull out, like he did at the Davis Cup. His brother was not impressed with that decision. It is incredible that some people still to this day claim Emma's US Open win was a fluke. As I said in my previous post, it was acknowledged by those at the top of the game, including Leylah herself, as an amazing achievement. If you haven't already done so, you really should look at the replays on RU-vid, they are still available to watch.
Emma was sooooo classy and her responses were very mature. She is only 21 years old and she will keep improving. She is back in top 100 now. Keep up the great work Emma.
i think it would have been better for Emma to have honoured her committment to Andy Murray even if it jeopodised her singles. it would have been the honorable thing to do. sometimes you have to make sacrifices. however i think the real reason was she didn't want to miss the football.

Emma will need to toughen up mentally and physically then she can go all the way. She's often having physical problems. She needs to be physically much much stronger,then she can catch Iga,Gauff, Navarro and more. From Canada
