Yes, hold the brake down to start. Turn the key to get the motor spinning then left off the starter for the ignition to fire. It doesn't start like a car.
The aftermarket air filter doesn't have any vacuum lines on it. The vacuum line comes off the intake boot from the motor and into the carb. you can just block them off if you don't want to use them
I actually gave up on them breeding and started to remove the rock and had almost all of it out of the tank when I found fry. I put all the rock back in so now I'm waiting. I removed the gold barbs I had in there for dithers. They hide a lot. I thought that there was only 1 of the 6 I bought left. When I removed the rock I found 5 adults so I only lost one which isn't bad because they were pretty emaciated when I got them.
For the money these filter are okay. no wing what I know now I'd go with a different brand. At night with my underwater lights you can see lots and lots of "fines" in the water column but it looks good in the day. You can see the bottom of the pond!
use strong co2 and strong light , it will make anubias heavy pearling with fast grow rate, most melts cause by imbalance nutrients or water fungi or bacteria not light
