i got an 09 c63 amg, have the same 722.9 transmission and its really the engine holding that trans from doing what it wants to do. Im sure its tuned differently for my car of course. The radio is the same crap i deal with and i HATE the infotainment system.

Hey JR14 Just got myself a 2014 audi s6, when it comes to an intercooler, you went with the heat exchanger but I am going down the rabbit hole of finding ways to cool the engine better cuz it be getting hot. Just bought s s34 cold air intake from 034 but might wanna get that heat exchanger. Any problems with the rs7 turbos as well?
This is why you have two exhausts system. The super quiet one in your house and only put it on only for inspections. Stay creative. Think of the bright side, your exhaust muffler bolts will never get rusty because you will be swapping out your muffler frequently in NYC. And don't be stupid. Make sure both exhaust tips looks exactly the same.

I think you made the right move. Nothing comes close to that Honda reliability, but that car was a toaster. When I lost my MK7 GTI, I didn't replace it with a new MK8 because of how bad the interior was. On principal it just doesn't make sense to buy one because its so bad interior wise to the MK7. If I had an MK7 GTI I would never give it up or sell it, especially one as nicely tuned as yours. Now whenever you feel like driving around in something bigger instead of something smaller you have a choice. There will be times where you'll feel like driving something zippier (hatchback) and something a bit larger and more relaxing (SUV). When the weather is really bad, use your SUV. I'm sure you have a good / reliable mechanic. Once you add a CarPlay / Android Auto head unit to that car, will it really be that old of a car? 😁

Nice I have a black on black 2004 Mercedes Benz ML350 inspiration edition W163. I used to have an accord too. But the Benz is more luxurious and quieter and it’s been super reliable. Mines has power folding mirrors also I love that feature especially when parking

Congrats on the journey with the Mk7. I’ve been following since shortly after you got it. At the time, I got a 2015 mk7 shortly after. In ‘21 I traded it in for a ‘21 Mazda 3 Turbo … currently waiting to trade in for a Mk8 Golf R. 🎉 ✌🏼

I've got a '09 Accord coupe... my OEM leather steering wheel is about 7.5/10 right now for condition.. I bought a brand new replacement from Honda (same OEM leather steering wheel)... it's been sitting in my closet waiting to install until I move out the Nevada desert climate in a year or 2 (cause it cost $600 and I dont want the dry, extreme heat to hurt the leather)... but just last week I impulsively bought a custom $500 carbon fiber and leather steering wheel that was made on the same OEM frame/setup, so it'll install like an OEM one.. but now IDK what to do. I know I won't get my full $600 back if I just list the OEM wheel on ebay. And I can't have a steering wheel in my closet forever. So I'm watching videos trying to figure out how easy it is to swap steering wheels. Maybe I'll have one for summer and one for winter ;) I think I'm going to buy a steering wheel puller though. The service manual says to not yank, pull and push on the steering wheel to remove it cause you could damage the steering column.

@@lucas_ST3 manual isn’t bad, crank walk can happen to any car, it’s a result of putting too of a aggressive clutch that causes extra stress on the thrust washers that leads to failure.
@@oSMILEYoxthat’s a Mk7 gti, the stock is20 is almost as big as the K04… But I make 400whp on a hybrid turbo and I only spent about $2700 on turbo, intercooler, downpipe, tune… And a good set of summer tires aren’t expensive if you know what you’re looking for
@@Yaboybash i literally have a $100 dollar unbranded downpipe , a stock air intake . A arm intercooler, the ko4 and the tune for around $2,500, sitting at 310whp . Like i said this guy went with the big brands and they all perform the same
@oSMILEYox He's on an MK7. Who puts a K04 on an MK7? The stock is20 at stage 2 is more powerful. There's no comparison to the KO4 and an is38 turbo, however.
It’s been a long road but it’s for the best. This is the same reason I got rid of my MKV gti. Try different platforms and drivetrains. The real ones will stick around no matter what car your drive
I lost my 2015 MK7 GTI back in February of this year. Got hit by a driver who ran a red light during that Super Bowl night. Had that car for 9 years, was paid off and it did everything I needed. I was able to get into a 2018 Prestige SQ5 to replace it. A major upgrade and basically fully loaded, but it comes with a car payment at the worst possible time. I like what I was able to get into but if I could go back in time and save my MK7 I would. That car ended up saving me. If the car runs well I honestly wouldn't sell it. I would keep it and just buy another car of whatever you want, and keep the MK7 in your stable or give it to someone in your family. It's already better than 95% of what's already on the road, its not worth giving it up. At the same time, if you do decide to sell I hope you come back to VW some day once they start putting actual buttons and switches back in their cars. If you decide to go to Audi, I recommend going into an SQ5. With some mods it'll basically become a "bigger GTI", which is basically I'm trying to get mine at right now! Good luck Bro.
Well the most important thing is that you are ok. You can always get another car but not another life. The SQ5 though is a beast of a platform so trust me when I say you ain’t missing out on anything!
I’m so glad you made this. Every time I get in my wife’s car I cringe with how uncomfortable the arm rest is. The fabric has been worn down paper thin and is gross. Just saw a black leather option on eBay motors that I’m gonna jump on. Thanks
