Sick. Looks like a blast. Some nice form and footwork to be seen. Crazy fast maneuvering with those swords makes it more like a realistic lightsabre duel! I used to be in a ancient/medeival sparring group where we used coldsteel polypropylene trainer swords and padded bamboo armor cuz those bastards could break bones otherwise. we put extra weight in them to get it closer to real weights. Was a ton of fun but we definitely needed more than two sets of armor lmao. Putting on the armor a bunch of your buddies have sweated their asses off in wasn't the best. I absolutely loved rocking a gladius and shield combo. Made for some interesting matchups when most people practiced with longswords.

This is a tournament for a game called "Amtgard". It is a full contact boffer sport LARP with chapters in every state across the country as well as Canada. This particular tournament took place in Colorado. This tournament is a best 2/3 for each bout and double elimination style brackets. All the fighters in brackets had to fight through a pit style qualifier which took the top 8 from each category to move on to brackets. In order to beat your opponent you must land a valid hit to their torso or a hit to 2 limbs (like arm and leg, arm and arm, etc). Head and neck are not valid targets for this game, as well as hand on weapon or foot on ground. Hand off weapon counts as an arm and foot off ground counts as a leg. There are more in depth nuances to the rules but those are the basics.

Anyone get any footage of the tournys specifically of the matches in the 4v4s looking for any videos of the team named Caaaarl and friends, and before anyone gets all presumptive after the name was suggested by avar i wanted to make it Caaaarl and orphans or Caaaarl and faces in homage to lamas with hats but thought it might be misinterpreted.
