I’m just a powerlifter trying to build the best home gym this side of the Mississippi. Looking to provide honest and helpful tips as well as product reviews.
Former D1 colligate athlete, retired rugby player, and current powerlifter.
Ordered one almost a year ago and still haven't received it. I've seen a lot of comments saying "5/6 months," but im currently on month 10. I reached out several times and received anticipated ship dates that have come and gone. Has anyone else had to wait this long? 10+ months feels excessive
I'm surprised with some of the negative reviews. I was so impressed with the ru-vid.comUgkxMwYg0MOXR4M-oGeyBsNSYe1aPOUoRH6D cage that I got the lat pulldown attachment that goes with it. It is equally outstanding. I don't have one complaint other than putting it together is a job. The instructions and packaging of the parts are very well designed and organized. Also, I stripped and damaged the pull down cable the first day, admitting it was my stupid fault, and they quickly replaced it at no charge. I'm 6'5, 280lbs and fit in the cage just fine. Glenn B
I had the same experience, but eventually it did come. It’s the trials of supporting small businesses. I will say the packaging was amazing, quality was amazing and I still love it.
@@RaulPerez1 ok I ordered mine in december. They have promised it will ship in a couple of weeks several times now. I guess I have to wait for some more. Did you order any eccessories?
@@jonaslinuselfving I kept getting the same response. Next week. In a couple more weeks. After having a lot of discussions it seems there is a work flow issue and some items were not QC’d correctly. So instead of shipping sub par equipment, they are sitting until the order is corrected. They are basing their reputation on quality. I had ordered the upgraded multi-grip pull up bar and dip station when I purchased - that all came together. I have since ordered a landmine and extra pins. So I’m guessing I’ll be waiting a bit in that. But I have enough to keep me busy now. My home gym is basically done and I’m finally hitting heavy weights again.
Still save the old cheap flooring, it can be cut in smaller squares for elevated DLs, foot elevation for pushups, or no cutting and stand plates against a wall, lots of uses
I literally just sold my big huge full power cage because of space restraints in my garage. And what a replacement this rack will be for me!!! Ordering one asap!!!
Something that you didn't mention. My basement has pink insulation foam all long the walls so can't really do wall storage or put up poster etc. But your string with hook all long the top of the wall is a great hack too I'll be doing that
I’m in the position of looking between the FB3000 and AB3000. This video was very helpful! Thank you! Still stand by the AB being the better first purchase if you own no bench and want to get started?
Bummer on the Bridge Built J-Cups! We have a new Bridge Built rack waiting to be shipped over (still in it the packaging)... Not going to lie, kind of dissapointed.
I think some of the newer models may have UHMW lining on the jcups and spotter arms. i’m not positive though, the duct tape works phenomenally if they don’t.
A bit of cognitive bias in this review, obviously you were expecting the barbell to be awesome before you even opened it! In all honesty though, I felt the same way when opening my Ohio Power Bar that I received yesterday, I loved it before I even met it! Re: opening, I just hacksawed the cardboard off at the end. Due to the same frustrations when unpacking my Ohio boneyard 1.2 bar earlier this year. Good luck in your meet!
Detailed review that cuts out the fluff nice stuff! The website doesn’t mention the dimensions of the frame that stays on the floor only the bench pad. Do you know how wide the metal bar containing the wheels are?
there's no room for your legs in the rollers when you decline, well my girlfriend can get in there but it's just downright painful on my legs when I decline with it. WTF??? I'll have to cut it and weld a piece in to extend it later, what a joke. here is a quick fix if you move it forward to the next bolt hole....works ok ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XzjqUnB267I.html
@@Petewink thank you. Sorry. What I mean was the angle form the seat to the back part though. It seems like you would slide off doing incline do to the angle.
Hello :) what is the coatage of the black bar plz ? Black zinc or e coat ? What is the blackest choice pls ? I know ecoat is shinny pretty much than the black zinc but it looks like pretty much dark i think ;)
have you dropped any significant weight on the spotter arms? Do you think they could support a failed rep >300 lbs or so? I have seen videos of other similarly built racks tipping forward in a similar situation
I have failed a 500lb squat and dropped it on the spotter arms and it held it perfectly. If you were to drop 300+ from shoulder height on the very end of the spotter arms i bet it would tip. It’s held multiple failed bench attempts 350-450lbs as well.
I though I had scored the other day with some lights at home depot. They were 12 bucks on clearance. Lo pro strip style. Only problem.. I get them home and it turns out they need to be wired directly into romex. Not about to cut holes in my drywall to find romex and splice off of it. Bummer.
Run an extension cord into them. Cut the female end off the cord, strip back the insulation and run the line neutral and ground in like normal. Alternatively if you have a roll of romex and don't want to sacrifice a power cord buy a male plug end and wire it into one end of your romex to essentially make a diy extension cord to do the same thing with
It actually stands up pretty well when you lean it up against a wall. I would trust standing it up by itself though. The bench gap actually isn’t that noticeable because the back pad is so long.
