Just a trash truck driver sharing what goes on in a typical day. enjoy :) *note* The video footage belongs to Me however, I do not own the truck or the rights to any images of other truck companies or the like.
One thing I've noticed about these dumpster videos is that there's often water in the dumpsters, which isn't usually the case with residential recycling. Any idea why?
@@NashobaTrashTrucks USA waste and recycling from my state Connecticut have have a facility there in MA. They have Peterbilts which I think you don’t want but lots of labire ASLs
Single stream is mixed recyclables... That's the point of it. If there is trash it is because people are stupid. It's a split truck for trash and single stream and it does what it was designed to do
Great video! Sure some recycling mixes into the trash, oh well! At least its not trash going the other way! What is surprising in this day and age. is that the majority of people being serviced on this route neatly bag their garbage, and the vast majority of the recycling is actually clean. I didn't see any half filled ketchup bottles, car batteries and electronics! You will always have the idiot that puts Christmas lights, dog food bags and furnace filters into the recycling. Keep up the great recording and hopefully the truck gets fixed one day.
This is such a better way than the uk we have fortnightly collection and they now on about 3 weekly collections still no one has a clue in local authorities over here they think they do
@@NashobaTrashTrucks I'm with you now hence why sometimes you just do blk bins and next you do both everything is complicated over here in the UK we have 4 bins per house food is weekly refuse/ recycling fortnightly also we have to pay the local authorities 50 pounds a year for a garden waste bin
Brilliant view👍 Tbh recycling is a massive scandal over hear in the uk documentarys have showed and explained at least half of what we put out for recycling some local authorities are sending it all over the uk to feed incinerators and have admitted the uk can't cope with the shear volume of plastic yet why the hell are the government and local authorities still insist we recycle as much as possible wtf
I personally think recycling is dumb... But the only things that are for a fact recycled are paper cardboard and aluminum If only 45% of the world is doing it... It's not worth it
Thanks for your support Yea this entire account is definitely over serviced... It's a weekly pickup that doesn't need to be weekly.. You can see in the last container i peaked at it cuz it's usually empty.
@@NashobaTrashTrucks hate that . Just A total waste of time and resources. I've a few like that but here its a "free" service ( paid for through property tax) so people have no incentive to cut down on their amount of bin lifts. Unlike areas where it's pay as you throw you're charged per load .
I wonder if, rather than folding the divider over when the ram is compressed, you wait until the ram is retracted. Seems like youre just compressing the cardboard down on top of the ram which just causes a tighter jam. Just my armchair trash truck driver's 2 cents. 😅
I always wondered what would've happened if the Go Pro camera fell into the hopper of the garbage truck and gotten destroyed crushed in the cabin of the truck I always wondered how they attach the camera to the truck
It's something that I've always been scared about. I have 2 gopros and they are expensive as hell and definitely don't want to lose them into a garbage truck. Right now the main way I mount to the truck is with an 8lb magnetic base. It's pretty sturdy and holds pretty well. Most of the truck is metal so I can put it anywhere. I ordered a tether for the new job because i have that fear of losing it and i saw another video where he lost his camera so i have more security.
That chunk of carpet was like, "I'm not going in there, and you can't make me! I don't care how much schmit you pile on top of me, or hiw many times you smash me with your secret door. I'm not doing it!! I'm scared of the dark!" 😢
both. It really just depends on the pressure in front of and behind the bags.. ive seen bags just split open and spray it's contents all over the place and then i've seen bags just get crushed without splitting.
