Off the record BMW went back to solenoid valve injectors from Piezo-electric injectors because of the leaking problem, which is common among 6.0 litre and 6 3/4 litre displacement models of high mileage. It's worth noting that N74TU2 switched to 350bar high pressure system.
Waouh ! Superbe combinaison de couleur / entretien détaillé … j’aurais aimé l’acheter à ce propriétaire très méticuleux sur les services préconisés et les fluides de haute qualité Chapeau
indeed, I also find it overall a better design, although I do like the concave grille on the facelift Sport GT S. for me, the most coherent inside and out is the pre-facelift Sport GT. unfortunately, it seems few good examples are still around (for sale).
I’m with you on that! I used to think that pre face lift was hideous!! More and more I see it, the beauty comes out, to where I think post face life is meh and pre face lift is artwork
Mercedes Engineers used to say If you need Two Plugs on One Cylinder You are doing Something Wrong… so I was surprised they came up with Twin Pulse when Alfa Romeo had Twin Spark tech from the 80s
Only two truths you said is w126 beating e23. And g70 beating w223. There is no doubt the w126 is a collectors sedan next to 60s 'holy grail' 600benz. However everything else you say is not accurate. The big 7 series beats all sclass generations. Some generations it's close. Some it's no debate. Biggest difference is w221 v f01. The f02 is much superior than the competitor w221. All these cars should be lwb
Honestly I'd put the EA888 Evo in the top tier. These can make near 500HP without any fuel upgrades. They also have amazing control modules that are very easy to tune. Paired with the DSG these punch way above their class.
I feel like the toyota and the vw engine should be both one tier higher and the mazda engines both one tier lower. In reviews it was often said that the mazda engines are good for cruising but not sporty at all and can feel stressed easily under pressure. As you also took into account in what cars these engines are used.. fhe mazda engines are all in boring suv's. The vw engine is in sportscoupes, cabriolets, porsche shooting brakes and other exciting cars.
Even if the Nissan engine is a better tuner platform (not sure about the Alfa one cuz it's just not as widely used as the Nissan one for such a task), the Alfa Romeo engine sounds so much better that it's not even funny... VR38 doesn't have anything on the 690T when it comes to sound!!
Interesting video, but many of the points are subjective / qualitative rather than objective / quantitative. To be transparent, I own a BMW with an S55 engine, so I have a bias. Is a 2JZ built from all aftermarket parts still a 2JZ? If you're changing many or all of the parts to aftermarket, it's not fair to compare it with a stock S58. The S58 block is aluminum, which is much lighter than cast iron, but you didn't give it credit for that. It's relatively easy to get 1000HP from an S58 with excellent reliability and drivability.
He has a point this was an excellent presentation presenting facts...the only point that he really missed is that the 2JZ is physically bigger and much heavier
