I think he is using the controller to select active track here. But you can use gestures, take off and start recording with the hand on Spark and Air 1. It's awesome

Maybe because he didnt used an SD card to keep the video. He may have used the video cache from the DJI software that record what's on the phone screen.

Bjarte Knudsen I think with rc limit is 8000m no? And the homepoint always from where u launch so if the battery gets low or u lose connection u need to go back 8000m to collect it from where it started if it goes into RTH mode. Very annoying.

:) but you can set it to homepoint to receiver, not where you take of from, so you do not need to go 8000 m back!

Yes, but it use the camera to "see" you so i depends on contrast between you and the background and speed you drive. .

How I did mine when I went biking was i used the remote to launch, get it into position and start active track. I then stuck my joystick protector on the remote and put it in my camelbak. I then mounted my phone to my bike so I could keep track and cancel if necessary. You get more range with the remote. I was just trying to solve the 100m limit like you experienced.

You have to use remote controller if distance is more than 100 meters. Rememeber to set long enogh distance in app.

I have made a 3d printet mount for both remote and phone on handlebars.

after you bag the remote, can you control spark from phone while you are riding, or do you have to stop and take the control out of your bag?

You must use active track. To land i fly it manually to where i stand and push land (not rth), hold my hand still under and it come down nice and land in my palm and shut off. You can also set homepoint to you not takeof point before start flying.
