Just replaced the filter, now FM seems normal and sensitive, but the signal level indicator shows full bar and squelch always open no matter i adjust the sql level. I dont have idea why that happened
Hi Jim, how did you get on with the antenna, I am planning on building something like this and I am curious to know if it is worth it.. thanks Rik ZL2GW / VK6
25 W or less, the mean power of any spurious emission supplied to the antenna transmission line must not exceed 25 µW and must be at least 40 dB below the mean power of the fundamental emission, but need not be reduced below the power of 10 µW.
Hello, I want to know if you can help me to repair the EDGESWITCH 5 XP that I was upgrading to with a new firmware when it lost power. Now it turns on but it doesn't respond to the ping, so I can't recover it by TFTP, the only option left is to reprogram it but for that I need the file to rewrite the EPROM and I can't find it anywhere. I would thank you from the bottom of my heart if you would help me get what I need, because I live in Cuba and here there is a lot of difficulty for everything.
Menu 77 needed to be on USB. And you must set radio in Data-FM to make it transmit properly in fldigi. You Also have to remember to switch radio back to regular FM for phone ops. This is with concurrent use of FLRIG....making sure both USB com port drivers are properly loaded.
I know lot of hams on the net. My best friend WA6JKN Kevin. I also have Collins 75A3 using transmitter Johnson Valant or Viking II. Francesca W7LTG Spanish Springs NV.
James are you still using the setup D710 with the Nuvi 350?? I am very busy with trying to set it up, I have the gtrans cable by Argent data but as off yet no joy.....can and are you willing to you help me out please? I can provide pictures of the settings that I have done in the D710ge
Nice I love listening to 10151 with my portable. Been doing it for years. Wish the map had a way to differentiate the I-gates so I could see where all the 30 meter ones are.
Hey Jim.. I know this is old - trying to track down the dimensions for this. I found you referencing a 2m 3DFL antenna on your QRZ page with these dimensions: (6) 7.5 inch, (2) 3 inch, || (2) 2 inch or (2) 2.5 inch for thin walled copper || (2) 5-7/8 and (1) 12 inch, 12 elbows, feedline center to top of seam and shield to bottom of the seam. Would this be the same antenna? Cheers and 73 VE7KOD
Hi Les, yes, if you get the audio levels right, you can store a message in voice mail, or record it and send it via any smartphone app. The forward error correction in the MT63 mode is capable of recovery. 73
thank you, I moved out of commifornia and left my AGM batts with local hams, and rebuilding using lith phos which should last 10+ years or 2000-3000 cycles. 73 ag6if
@@chevyguy1128 I am testing the cheapest lithium phosphate brand I have ever seen, miady 16ah batts are around 50 bucks each,.. My favorite Bioenno is about 160-180 for the same capacity. We'l see how they hold up...so far they are great!
I'll get my radio station set up soon I hope all I have to get is a antenna tuner I am on disability so I have to buy a piece at a time on a very tight budget
Hi James!!!! I have a Picostation M2, not sure what the problem is, all I see are the Leds blinking except 2nd (bottom to top) and the 5th(bottom to top)
Interesting! I have the FT817ND and wondered 3 years ago when I got it if it could be programmed to work on 60m because the U.S. ones already had it on. We now have the 818 with it on. Other people have done the wideband mod, which would allow a lot of frequencies to be used if we ever got new frequencies. Who ever imagined we'd get 10, 18 and 24 MHz? Now there's far less broadcast stations on s.w. it's not impossible we get some new frequencies, but perhaps losing some vhf/uhf/microwave frequencies as demand from commercial interests seems to be growing in that area. I will consider doing this to my 817, or wideband it. It'd be nothing different to my h/b rig which could operate on any h.f. portion limited by aerials and bandpass filters. 73, Bill, G4GHB.
THANK YOU for all you videos on Loops I am learning to love them as well! Have you ever published the tap points for your 2.5:1 Balum I love to home brow all my antenna equipment? Keep up the great videos. KC8IYC Michigan
Jim. I have the 991A (still in the box) . I learned something while watching the video that I can apply to my setup. Also I must commend you on your use of the numbers 7 and 3. You are the first person in a very long time that I've heard correctly use those numbers in parting. Seven, three. Instead if the seventy-three and seventy-threes that I hear people saying. My CW instructor would say "he's a ham not a ham bone" thanks again for making this video. De 8P6DY
@@JamesSanders they did a great job, my CW instructor is now sk. He was a radio officer and copied while he typed on a mechanical typewriter . He was 8P6MJ sam. Self learning is not the same as having an experienced caring instructor or Elmer.
Well, I tried the settings, now nothing works. Was having decode issues, thought it was a radio issue, guess not. Now the only thing it does is listen, won’t even tune the radio now. I’m really starting to hate this hobby.
dont give up..check baud rate and com port , make sure they match what you have set on your computer side..that solves the non-tuning issue. 2nd, make sure your clock is properly set on your computer. If it is off by more than 1 second, you will not be able to decode. Windows is terrible at keeping the clock synchronized... listen for the transmissions, and they should end (on ft8) about 13 28 43 and 58 seconds, and start up on 0 15 30 and 45
As I review this audio in preparation for a emm-comm net on keller for sunday, I am reminded of many great friends who helped out who are SK now, Bonnie and Tony, sad and glad to hear their voices again,. 73 Jim AG6IF,
