I wanna be a monk, but i am not christian. I want to meditate on god, discuss about god and read about god. Be close to nature and animals. Its so nice to be away from the world. Anyways i am already doing that. I am always in my room and dont go out.
Enclosed monks, hermits and Nuns are vital part of the Church and the world, they pray and intercede for us before the throne of God. God bless and protect you all.🙏
All true Christians are called to be friendly an civil to others an show God where they are too people ,in their world.They don't have to do so in monasteries an covenants, but people have freewill from God to live life as they choose

5 yr update I commented 5 yrs ago (you can scroll and find my handle) was surprised when my comment was up on my feed as being commented on 5 yrs later. I guess God’s work is continuing. I’m still alone, trying my best to live monasticly. God’s interference is daily, taking me out of my beloved prayer life and immersing me into His Work and Will. Not always comfortable but noticeably needed, in two ways. The good of others and personal growth for myself. I have a saying “oh boy another growth opportunity”. Nonetheless, I’m still here, trying daily to catch a glimpse or hear the word of Jesus. When it comes it’s least expected, but truly precious. Worthy of all my efforts. Listen today with the ear of your heart, for Jesus only can be heard when we are silent. Pax vobis.
I would like to join with them. But not im my corrupted country. I know for sure if Jesus Christ himself comes to my church he would do same as he had done in Jerusalem.
We love our Monks at Belmont Abbey. They are so different and each of them offers the community their gifts. We are happy that the oblates are gonna start meeting again.

I know how it is. One can pack one’s bags to go to the monastery but God may keep you in a cave in the mountains instead. Or, like for me…a hermitage and grounds in a dying village in Louisiana. Just watched a video about a young postulant in a New Zealand Transalpinist order. He was a child prodigy violinist: yet when his final vows occur they'll take his violin away. He's a wonderful musician. It's hard to imagine Jesus rejoices in that. Great talent only to see it thrown away. Brother Benjamin Li is gladly submitting: it's his decision.. Holy is in all kinds of places, people and acts. Peace be to those who find those paths and shine that Light.

I am told in some monasteries you have to be a certain age and at least a degree holder in order to qualify. Maybe it depends on monasteries. Thank you very much for your reply. Monks main focus shouldnt be how they look, that would be vanity (most Communities/Orders tell their members they cannot look in the mirror unless they're shaving/trimming their beards). When I was a monk in 2016-2017 that is what I was told.
Most of us want to be happy at the cost of forsaking God. Monks are happy when they are nearest to their God. The happiness of heaven is seen in the tranquil soul and not in the loud laughter and desirous spirit of the world. If one is for God one must forsake the world's ways. For the world's ways will eventually bring sorrow to the soul. For world loves itself at the cost of loving God.
I just don't like his reason for becoming a monk but I respect it. I myself want to become a monk because it'll be awesome and pleasing to God and pleasing God makes me happy!
