Hi Nancy, I'm totally loving the series so far and can't wait until I can order supplies to make my first basket. My question is do you have any tutorials on how to make larger baskets with lids. I'm interested in making some storage baskets to store my yarn and needles for crochet and knitting. But I would like to make matching lids so that they can be stacked. Thank you in advance.
i have just been on your website to order the coaster patterns. you say you need a 4x4 hoop. will the machine reject if you use a larger hoop. like a 5x7 or something like that. my smallest hoop is 120mmx120mm. please and thanks. i really love the coasters. love love
Hi Erin. My husband made it for me. He just bought a large piece of tabletop plywood and then he cut a "U" shape out. He also made it taller than a standard table so I can stand or sit on a bar height stool.
Hi, I am a business owner i am looking for a machine to do embroidery on silk (mostly put the customer name on the product). Can you give some advice since i have watching all your video and u definitely know your craft . Thanks
There are many good machines out there but the MOST IMPORTANT thing is that you are comfortable with who you purchase your machine from. I cannot stress that enough. Your machine will need to be serviced from time to time so visit several sewing shops and talk to the owners. Purchase your machine from the shop you feel most comfortable with. Then they will direct you to the brand of machine they sell and show you the options and you can select from there. I've been enjoying your videos. I was a novice basket weaver years ago and I am now interested in weaving again. Not having made a basket in so long, your videos have helped to remind and motivate me. I have a friend that wants to learn also, so I'm a bit more confident to help her learn. Thanks so much:)

I gotta say... I wasn't even too interested in basket weaving until I saw your videos, but just because of your sweet and patient personality I went out and gathered a few supplies to give it a try... and now I'm hooked! Please keep making videos, they are awesome!

Dear Nancy, thank you so much for your fab tutorials! I help with Forest School at my son's school. We want to get the children age 5-11 making baskets, willow work etc. Would your basket be suitable for children to make? What is the simplest you would reccommend? Would a wood drilled square base with rattan be suitable and easy enough to make a square vase 20-25cm tall, 10-15cm square? We would place a jam jar inside to carry flowers? thanks :)
Yes you can adapt this to a larger size basket. I would advise using wider reed just for the strength of it as well as adding additional pieces of reed (two thicknesses) at the base of the basket for added strength. Have fun weaving!
Very lovely tutorial. I want to make a picnic basket and I was wondering how durable this type of basket is, and if it would still be durable enough if made on a larger scale. And if not, what other weeving process I could take?
