Awesome video! I’m kind of sad because around where I live, I won’t see the chipmunks again until Spring. Once it’s below 40 degrees F, they retreat to their burrows for the winter. Can’t wait until Spring, because the squirrels are frustratingly skittish this time of year. Not sure why, because I was hand feeding them just a couple of months ago. 🐿
You should have one enclosure for each chipmunk. Having them share one is not enough space. I would place the enclosures on top of a big basin or aquarium/terrarium filled with soil about 2' deep at least so they can burrow. Maybe you can connect the caged part of each enclosure with tubes so they can roam. Maybe have the other two on the other side of your yard - one in each corner. The chipmunk running back and forth to me seems like stressed behaviour.
