Dribbling, short passing, and otherwise nice plays to look at enthusiast for EA FC 24, posting Rank 1 Weekend League and Elite Division highlights. May occasionally upload Rocket League (former competitive/almost pro) videos or other stuff. Please let me know how I can improve in the comments!
First time viewer and really enjoyed your explanations and quick video review. It definitely helps me make a lot more sense of my own tactics and why the attacking fullbacks would start to make a run and then pull back just after midfield and the inside forward would barely ever attack those inside lanes, etc. One thing I would have liked to see in this video is how your tactics looked when you switched from “without ball” to “with ball” to see where the game registers having those players positioned. I usually forget to look at that feature and often times with my own custom tactics there will be a ton of players on top of each other. I’ve noticed the best formations that have worked for me are the ones where every player is pretty neutrally positioned both with and without the ball. Subbed
this is a copy and paste over from someone else with about the same question: let’s say you’re doing normal left stick dribbling. your player takes a touch. it will be 2 seconds before they take their next touch. at 1 second, press L1. then just before, like, BARELY before. maybe a quarter of a second or so, release L1 this does a couple things a.) it’s a long enough press to allow it to register as an L1 dribble without causing a run off the ball 2.) you get the benefit of L1 strafe dribbling without the downside. if you hold L1 for multiple seconds, multiple touches, your player does a really slow dribble (this can be good but isn’t the point of the video). this combines the benefit of the speed of an L1 cut with normal left acceleration, which is faster than holding L1 so you don’t want to hold L1 through the dribble, it’s slower you’re tricking the game to register an L1 dribble. learn when the game recognizes that L1 has been confirmed as your players next move. once you know it’s going to be an L1 dribble, let go it’s a tight window but it sounds harder than it is. lemme know if this makes sense, i’d like to hear! i’ll try to have a follow up video of L1 and L2R2 up after i do my weekend league games. hopefully i generate some good examples. i’ll try to talk about the timing windows there TL;DR i think you’re holding the button for… half a second to a full second depending on when you start the press and how long it will be until your player takes that next touch. most situations are .75 of a second. more than a tap which would be like .2 of a second, but not enough for me to say you’re really “holding” it, so, i’ve been calling it taps
it doesn’t effect the striker because the striker is the default central player. they’ll be the one to make runs still because they start central the striker gets in the way of the LM/RM cutting inside too much. but the game takes priority of default starting position over creative positioning so in my formation. the CMs were prioritized because they were already central thus would be more of an issue in a 1 striker 1 CAM formation. the CAM doesn’t make runs because the striker is central and ahead of them. the CAM will make runs if the striker drifts wide or drops off the 442 is meant to be that shape so it’s not really a hinderance. it’s meant to have the wingers move inside just a little but no more than that. then pass across the middle and get a scoring chance
First of all, great tutorial, thanks a lot! But I have one question: Is there a way to when tapping/spamming L1, I dont send my Cbs/cdms to run? Because thats the main Issue im facing, sometimes im just trying to tap l1 to dribble but all of sudden, my cb starts sprinting towards oponnents goal...
there is, mine don’t do that, though they did at the start until i learned the timing. it means you’re tapping too quickly. it’s not a rapid fire tap, it’s hold it for just long enough for the game to register how the game registers is complicated to explain! so! let’s say you’re doing normal left stick dribbling. your player takes a touch. it will be 2 seconds before they take their next touch. at 1 second, press L1. then just before, like, BARELY before. maybe a quarter of a second or so, release L1 this does a couple things a.) it’s a long enough press to allow it to register as an L1 dribble without causing a run off the ball 2.) you get the benefit of L1 strafe dribbling without the downside. if you hold L1 for multiple seconds, multiple touches, your player does a really slow dribble (this can be good but isn’t the point of the video). this combines the benefit of the speed of an L1 cut with normal left acceleration, which is faster than holding L1 so you don’t want to hold L1 through the dribble, it’s slower you’re tricking the game to register an L1 dribble. learn when the game recognizes that L1 has been confirmed as your players next move. once you know it’s going to be an L1 dribble, let go it’s a tight window but it sounds harder than it is. lemme know if this makes sense, i’d like to hear! i’ll try to have a follow up video of L1 and L2R2 up after i do my weekend league games. hopefully i generate some good examples. i’ll try to talk about the timing windows there

has it worked for you? definitely want to make sure it’s not just a me thing after a little more experimentation i don’t think attacking wingbacks are the way to go. they don’t push the wingers inside correctly, they just kinda both run into the wide space
Excellent stuff here but this is a really bad game. Way, way too many cheesy ways to BOTH score and defend. The game’s far too AI dependent. Of course there’s a skill gap, but it’s pretty narrow compared to that of FIFA 12, 13 and games prior to that. Button mashers never used to stand a chance back in those days.
you’re right! i mean that’s it, you’re right i’m perhaps… unique in that i find fun about the more in depth thinking about this stuff. like, a lot of people hop on just for rewards and then get off. part of the fun i have about this game is just thinking about systems and how to break someone down does the game reward you for it? minimally. it accomplishes things for me on the field but they’re no more or less effective than counter attacks and long shot spam does the game deserve the in depth thought? no. do i blame people for getting angry with it? no. do i have fun doing this? yeah and i’d love to build a community with people who do the same i don’t know any other content creators who do more in depth stuff… if you know of any i’d love to hear
@@HazardousFC oh don’t get wrong I love this stuff I think it’s great. I’m a strategy nerd myself although I only play sports games. So finding the strategies within those games is one of my favorite things to do in gaming. Madden 🏈 provides this quite in depth for example. The problem I have is that those strategies - no matter how well thought out they are - don’t nullify things that should be easily snuffed out. It’s just as easy to spam totally mindless BS and get rewarded for it. That makes me hate the game. My hard work in building up, passing, using well timed skill moves, etc. can be easily matched with an 80 yard lobbed through down the wing to a first time cross, shot, rebound back to the attacker, shot and goal. That’s just bad programming. Nothing to do with you or your videos. Your stuff is awesome. At least what I’ve seen so far. Got me to subscribes anyway!
fair! i’m happy to accept the critique. this was my like, 3rd tutorial like video so i’m learning how concise to be. i’ll try to be less jarring by the pausing do you mean how i’m talking, or me cutting between clips a lot?
it’s frustrating isn’t it curious, what formation were you playing and what runs weren’t being made, does it seem like players were interfering with each other like it has for me? i’m confident this is the issue but i’ve only played a few formations this year
Brother, this is so valuable! Thanks for making this - very helpful and entertaining. I like the editing and I see you're titling the vids well. Banger!
in those offline games, yes in the clips at the end, the tactic was slightly different. that had inside forward-attack, and playmaker-attack my current is inside forward-roaming and box to box. everything else should be the same. short passing, 61 depth, etc
The description has time stamps and a quick view of how to perform every skill move! Will appreciate any feedback on this one, as always. I know it’s a longer one but, there is a lot to these. Understanding the concepts like this will help with understanding the rest of my content. Thank you all for the support recently ❤
hey i think i remember you from the dribbling video, thanks for commenting again! i know it’s a long one and i’m asking a lot but, i think thinking about it like this unlocks so much. hopefully it’s helpful! if i get feedback that it’s too long and not concise enough i’ll make a follow up one i already plan to have another one with more in game examples
it's so good bcz it long and go more in-depth trust me I got even better just by using ur techniques of dribbling, I was struggling when passing to my strikers and turn as the defenders always storm at me and get the ball now I'm bullying them, sorry for the long reply just wanted to give u an example of how useful ur videos are to me, thanks again bro
best of luck! it’s weak at bursting down the field. your players are too spaced out your best attacking outlet is the CDM. sounds weird but trust me, if your play goes through him, you’ll get a lot more chances think about it like this… if you spam the ball all the way forward to your attackers, you’ve got no one ahead of you to be creative with. so all you can do is sprint and dribble if you hold it deeper and build up, you can make a killer pass in a better space, but you can only do that from further back on the field
@johnnymancspice i take it these were working for you ;) formation requires a lot of discipline to play but it’s the only one i can manage to play that doesn’t do my head in. it ALMOST looks like real football and of course! happy to help
@@HazardousFC oh it really is, it’s honestly just what I needed cos as you say I was going with inverted wingers but thought by having half wingers in midfield n false backs coming inside it would force the inverted wingers towards goal but wasn’t working AT ALL. In the space of three games with your set up it felt much better balanced. Just picking up tips from you with the L1 tap now n that’s changed things for me too. Not sure how you ended up on my tl but I’m glad you did 🙌🏼
YES I’m glad I’m not alone with this… i consider myself to be a football traditionalist and I want to win by playing football! NOT the EAFC pace abuse and broken mechanics. I spend so long trying to fine tune tactics and it’s so frustrating at times. I’d rather lose trying to win nice than win playing META bs abuse! I feel tactically my football knowledge is good as I’ve played the game for real at a decent level! But trying the implement it on EAFC is near on impossible! Even players like Messi with 90 plus positional sense act like they have never seen a football pitch in their lives 🤦🏻♂️ so frustrating!!!
played at a decent level, that must be interesting! but yeah. you’re all right on this. no good runs, no diagonal runs ever, or curved runs. no disguised runs either… where somebody makes a run where they know they won’t get a pass but it’ll drag a defender with them and open another gap that another attacker recognizes and moves into. no roaming around the pitch to pick up the ball to create unique little triangles and passing lanes… nothing
on attack, they stay wider. think about it like this… with the attack instruction they look to make the first available run. which is always outside. on roaming, sometimes they delay making a run, and by the time they delay and then decide to make one, the space might actually be inside for them to run into it also gives a good balance. with attack it’s mostly just the front 3 attacking. on roaming sometimes the CMs make good runs too
i do! i stream here on youtube. i saw you followed my twitch (thanks!) but i’m just streaming on youtube for now. i’ll probably multi stream on twitch and youtube later on you can check my “live” tab for my last broadcasts. i also upload my gameplay from those streams into edited videos with “RTG” in the name
You’re that guy bro. Sorry I didn’t tune into last stream but your content is a bastion of good info in the midst of this absolutely shit game. I have a lot of skill issues but the lack of faith I have going forward really infects my ability to play well lol
thank you! and no worries on missing the stream trust me on the bastion of good content on this awful game… i hope you enjoy the 40 something minute long skill move tutorial out in a day or two ^^
ha, you think EA heard guardiola talk about isolating wingers 1on1 with fullbacks and decided that’s all wingers should ever do even he used to use inverted wingers until he ended up with KDB and bernardo who you want in the half space instead
btw, after your video i tried 433(2) both cm PM ROAM and both fb wingback, seem working well, as wb pushing winger to cut inside and if not wb ,when cm enter winger zone, winger will start go inside...my gameplay suddenly make total football reborn@@HazardousFC
@muhammadnurariffabdulnasir9700 it’s good! but sometimes for me the CM went to replace the fullback for me, which i didn’t like. this is one of the better setups for sure though, no doubt, that’s the only reason i don’t use it
I think you are half right… because think some of the instructions like inside forward don’t actually trigger until the ball reaches a certain point. It looks like the inside forwards actually trigger in the final third and not the entire pitch
i think that’s right too, however they won’t activate in the final third if someone’s occupying that space instead so i had falseback which pushed my CMs on playmaker attack further forward then even they would usually go, and i was basically attacking with my ST and CMs only you’re right that inside forward activates late, but for me it wasn’t activating at all
this type of content is a breath of fresh air, some very known youtubers are only just recycling content, and are teaching some very basic stuff, that i guess is useful for people who are still learning the basics, but they don't teach much more beyond that. I've subscribed and looking forward for your content.
thank you! even the more basic videos i want to include analysis of it over other videos that just say “do this” with no explaining what it really does for you in game i’m just a fan of thinking about the game in general, i really love putting stuff out there with a more thoughtful eye to it. i think other creators don’t because they don’t see FC/FIFA as a game that deserves it… they’re right but this is what i have fun doing. thanks for the compliments!
@@HazardousFC ok I see, what about screen tearing do you have any? I’m getting 250 fps but it’s not smooth unless I cap it at like 190 fps in amd adrenaline and use VRR but this adds input delay.
only while turning. if you’re moving at an angle, like 90 degree turns or more, tap the button, flick the left stick that way. was the dribble has registered and you know your player will move that way with L1 registered, you can let go. i don’t recommend holding L1 for any normal movement, just normal left stick, until you need to cut in a direction, then tap. UNLESS you have a trickster+ player, you can experiment with holding the button with them
i haven’t used many players this year so my favorite players doesn’t mean that much. i’m saving my coins. that said i’ll have a video on in game stats and body types out probably tomorrow that’ll explain what i’m looking for in cards? formations will take me a little longer to get to, but i will make a video on them. really basically, flat formations = direct but not good for much else. formations with less flat lines are more creative but less direct. so it depends on how you attack. flat is 442, 451, 5atb. non-flat ones are my 433-2 and 4231 mainly
@@HazardousFCYeah man this is the purest possible FIFA content you can get. It's straight to the point, aimed at helping people, not bogged down with infinite clickbait thumbnails like "OMG THIS CUSTOM TACTICS WILL WIN YOU GAMES". Appreciate what you're doing, the algorithm pushed your vid to me so you're obviously doing something right
Hi bro .. nice videos I love ur content .. can u make a video about PC settings for fc25 if u play on PC how to make it smoother and responsive thank u man
I play striker in pro clubs. Any advice on beating guys in the box or on when it me and a defender on a breakaway? I assume just use the tips on this video. But any recommendations on stats/playstyles or skill moves for these situations would be a blessing. Thanks for the video!
skill move tutorial will be out soon, trickster+ technical+ and press proven+ are the best dribbling playstyles. trickster+ makes L1 better. the rest is all about pulling your opponent's apart and how to create space. i don't play clubs so i don't have tips on that gamemode but i'll be making some chance creation videos that will hopefully help!
@@HazardousFC I can use two playstyle + in clubs I was think of creating a short and stocky striker( for agile movement and strength on the ball) and using trickster+ and press proven+
those are the best two for dribbling, bar none, i had those in every player in ultimate team at the end of last year. just make sure to learn your L1 taps, heh i do not know the body types, short and stocky will make them less agile than short and lean? but i don’t value strength much myself, i’m used to using cards like messi so you can experiment with that if you like the strength. press proven+ gives some good strength already though
very well explained video , on what setting do you have your player switching right stick ? ball relative or player relative ? and what setting number ? your switching is so quick
my switching is on player relative, the style is “classic”, and my switching sensitivity has been on 6. i may try increasing that to 7 or 8 and seeing if i like it, but i’ve had it on 6 all year
