Research shows that we learn better when we are enjoying ourselves. I use my background in acting to make these videos entertaining, because I firmly believe that learning should be fun.
In 2003, I volunteered for Mother Theresa’s charity in Kolkata, India, teaching English in a local school. It was a fantastic experience and I have continued teaching ever since - from Tibetan exiles in Dharamsala to freelancers in London, to business people in Barcelona to clients all over the world online.
I cover a lot in these videos but if you want to consolidate this learning, I would strongly suggest that you work with an English teacher and spend some time in an English speaking country. I offer private, online tuition and also arrange bespoke tours of the UK. You can find more information at: www.honeyourenglish.com/
This was super interesting and helped me better understand the way I speak. I was brought up to use an RP accent and in the past I’ve tried to hide it by either sounding more West Country or more London-ish. Now I try not to hide the RP accent, but will still come out with Gloucestershire, or London-isms due to the influences of friends and co-workers.
3 Years ago I remember being pretty bad at English. So I searched "English Lessons" on RU-vid. I watched like dozens of English Learning channels. And I came across this. Benjamin's English. I watched many videos and took many quizzes of yours. I felt something different. And that something was the connection between the teacher and the student. I loved it. I loved every thing about you. And now here I am looking at your videos and looking at my past. 3 years means nothing but the things I've learn over that 3 years means everything to mean. Obviously I'm not 100% at English. But can not thank you enough for giving me the encouragement that I was looking for. -Sudhara
God bless you Benjamin! This video and your advices are excelents and eager me to go futher in my english learning process and also in my everyday job, many thanks!!
Thank you Benjamin! For a long time, phrasing (diction) has been a problem of mine. Teachers and editors have advised me to “show don’t tell” but surprisingly did not offer many examples as illustrative as this. Currently, I’m writing a personal statement for an application. Putting these skills to use actually looks fun now!
many useful knowledge and trading terminologies in this video, beside that I like the way you express them, easily to listen and understand, thank you so much Benjamin
I recently got into writing and I intend to turn it into a skillset and I can already see how much I'm going to struggle with it. Thank you for showing examples on better writing
hello, Benjamin i have recently started watching your videos and they enormously helped me improve my English knowledge, one request for you is that I'm going into the field of content writing, and it will help so much if you make some videos about what type of English i should I use in my articles or blogs or attract the attention of the reader.

Corked wine is spoilt and the result of the wine or even only the cork or cap having been exposed to spores of a specific mold that hangs around the cellars.
I know this is an older video, but thank you so much for posting this! It is so hard to find videos which really go into what classics children should be reading at what age/level.
The best camparison of British and North American accents I've ever seen. Actually, I find the RP the best English at all, but the accent of Emma is also very good sounding. Thanks a lot for both teachers!
