@@96transamconvt well I mentioned it's not a Canadian shield lake. So just need to figure out which non-shield lakes in Manitoba have smallies and it's not a long list at all.
A good day on the water, what fly were you using? I am heading out today. Hopefully I will have some luck! By the way those fish swimming in front of you are Carp.
Thanks! Honestly fly fishing is not as hard as it seems. Good to practice in the yard first before fishing. Smallmouth and pike are definitely one of the easier fish to catch on the fly.
Awesome, I havent fished that leg yet , my son and I will give it a go this year. I avoid it every year as there are too many species there🙄😉 and we normally just focus on the speckies.
I dont think people realize how amazing this was...great job will be sure to stop by and say hello well helping trapper Terry on tje trapline next winter.
Great video Shu Mon. Lake Winnipeg fish prove that they will eat anything even Anime characters Amazing to see how aggressive the fish are on the Lowrance unit!
please please put them back in the water with your net we in the UK will be cringing, and we NEVER EVER stand up holding carp, just saying, we take great care of are fish in the UK, are fishing lake are well managed, carp are worth a lot of ££££, and draw a lot of £££ and people to the water's to catch them, Thank you anyway
I wouldn't be too concerned about it here. This pond is connected to the river by a ditch only when the water is high. Once summer comes the water level drops and the ditch dries up and all the fish are trapped. Then they all die in the winter. Plus they're invasive species here unlike in Europe.
@@jamesatkinsfishing cause the river is like 2km away. Plus this is Canada, nobody is going to put effort to save some pond carp from winterkill. We have some of the best carp fishing in the world yet nobody except weird people fish for them.
@@FishingPrairieandShieldTV it's not weird fishing for carp, you looked happy catching them, i'm not saying your weird lol, but it did look like good fun lol
@@jamesatkinsfishing they are very fun to catch and deserve more attention. The problem here is that there are at least 15 other fish that have more prestige than a carp. Which is why very few people fish for them.
