I am a keen match angler and absolutely love coarse fishing. The matches I fish are either open or club matches depending on available events. I enjoy pole and rod & line fishing for catching all types of coarse fish such as, carp (including F1's), tench, bream, roach, ide, barbel, chub and perch. The main focus of my videos will be sharing the various techniques to catch fish at many different venues across the midlands area of England. Throughout this journey I will share my ups and downs in match fishing, covering the rigs and bait used relating to the venue and the fish I aim to catch. I also plan to film other experienced match anglers so my videos get alternative insights to match and pleasure fishing. I have a light hearted approach to my videos and hope they are informative, useful and enjoyable to watch.

Well done Greg pal,I bet you really enjoyed that ,nice way of fishing imo ,great vid as usual and I just missed seeing you other wed on kivo waters, I'd just fished the over 50s open and passed you on way out.
@@GregProffittAngling I'm on over 50s wed Greg and then I go to my caravan in skeg Thursday to Sunday,we'll bump into each other one day.Keep on making vids pal ,really enjoy watching and picking tips up from them.cheers.
Hi David, I have 2 cameras and only 1 microphone, so when I charge the microphone there is no sound, hence the music. I will eventually get another set of microphones, but I've spent a small fortune already 😂😂👍
Waggler casting was fantastic,,did you ever hook vegetation on far bank when casting,,,,off camera 😂,,may i ask don't won't to be cheeky but was you clipped up !!!!
Hi Keith, on this occasion I didn't, as I was throwing to some grass that was sticking out further than the overhanging branches. In previous matches, i have lost a load of wagglers in the vegetation. Yes, I always clip up to a feature as they can only go sideways. I never clip up in open water 👍
Hi Alan, Thank you, I was just lucky. I have had it where I've lost 4 or 5 pellet wagglers in one sitting. It certainly helps when you have grass to throw too. Greg
@@GregProffittAngling allways greg, trying my best pal, nice to bump into other week, made my day, i tell ya, keep on cathing em pal, and tight lines, catch ya on the next 1, wishing ya well, onwards n upwards, x
Hi, I've mentioned them on videos before, so I don't want to bore people 😂 For my margin I use the MAP hybrid elastic in 18 to 20. And for my shirt pole work I use the same elastic but in the 12 to 14 rating. Cheers Greg
Hi Russ, these matches are on Thursday's every week. I cam only make them in the school holidays due to work. If you search Woodhouse grange lakes on Facebook, they post the weekly board with all the match and pleasure pegs on. You just simply comment if you want to book on. Draw is 08.45, fish 10 till 4 and its £21 all in. Greg
Hard lines Greg ,I fished a match two week ago and fished OK for first 2hrs and then got my edge wrong ,Drew end peg 35 ish and thought the proper edge fish would come so fished 9mtrs down bank ,massive bollocking dropped only caught small fish and then you've blown it cos you can't afford to give rest of anglers a bad spell cos you can't catch up .I was down s bit but went following Tuesday and won ,so good days and bad ,its all about decisions. Enjoyed vid pal ,I'm sure you'll come good again.cheers.
Hi Albert, That's what I like to hear. You came out top in the end. Yes, you make decisions that you end up regretting, but that's fishing. I hope I can bounce back. Thank you for your very kind comment. Much appreciated, Greg
Excellent video Greg, showing matches when it doesn't go quite right is a pure, honest approach. We all learn from the not so good days, it makes us better anglers, Keep it up mate 🙂👍
at 0945.. the fish was on top of the surface and very close in so why use a pole when you could just scooped him out with the long landing net and put it in your keep net
Hi Dave, yes it seems to be going that way. Although just lately everywhere is fishing poor at the minute with the rubbish weather. Roll on some warm weather 😎
Love your videos mate because you fish the same venues our clubs fish, it's interesting to see how you tackle pegs I have actually drawn. I just can't get my head round that Kennel 😢 those regulars who get those massive weights off there amaze me. I never do anything on there until the winter months then I can hold my own , in the summer I just get battered 😅 never mind keep up the great content.
Hi Nigel, yes I agree those boys are something else. They punish your every mistake, but thats what makes you a better angler. I am still trying to get my head around it. I think it will take me some time 😂. Thank you for commenting. Greg
Nice to see you throwing them down the net into the weigh sling. What is the point in using multiple nets, only to bounce them off each other at the weigh in? Not trying to be a smart arse here, just do not understand it.
Hi Adrian, I completely understand what you are saying. I just simply follow the rules set by the fisheries. I am not sure on how they would improve the weigh in process to stop them bouncing off each other. Thank you for your comment, kind regards Greg
Hi Jack, yes they do fish shallow, usually with maggots at around 11 metres. It's just quicker to catch in the margins as you need a lot of fish to frame. 👍
