This is the official RU-vid page for Chris DeMakes A Podcast. The show is hosted by Chris DeMakes - singer, guitarist, and songwriter for Less Than Jake.
Love these vids with Fat Mike, super interesting. Just saw NOFX live the last time in both Toronto and Montreal. Greetings from your friendly Canadian punk rock harm reductionist and drug culture specialist 🫢🖐️
Just wanna say keep at this Chris, this channel is going to blow up when enough people discover it. Some of these breakdowns are amazing and you are asking the question we want to know about some of these old songs. Need to get MCR and FOB in here and a lot more of the new wave guys before they pass because I've never heard any channel break down a hit like this, it's gold.
I have listened to a few episodes now. Mmm, Geoff comes up a lil cocky about his band etc, at least in the first 5 mins. Nothing wrong with that, killer album but I usually like the super humble bad ass musician attitude.
Myself and my brother and 3 brothers were friends with flew to Vienna for the final tour and when they finished playing the decline we just stood there and hugged each other. A special moment
Hey. Thanks for talking about this. If you guys want to talk about the making of this record I’d be happy to. I have notes of what you’re getting wrong! -william wittman
theres certain songs where a singers voice was just meant to sing it. where none of the other 8 billion people on earth can sing it nearly as good. All star is one of those songs and Steve was one of those singers. just a perfect match. too good
First snuff album I ever bought was the “said” album. I didn’t really like it much because it was hard work figuring out what I was hearing. But I stuck with it and after a dozen or two times it was raising the hair on back of my neck. Duncan has been my personal favorite punk rock musician ever since. I am slobbering every time I hear they got something new coming out. I always told myself if I have a son by god I’m gonna name him Duncan. I guess that sealed the fate and now I am father to 3 girls. Hahaha. Anyhow. Thanks for doing this stuff. I’m really glad I clicked in. Cheers
Excellent interview and I too always wondered what they meant by "Shoot the Moon"! I was also fortunate to be able to see LTJ and Hey Smith at Okayama Image a decade ago. One of my most cherished memories during my five years in Japan! (I was also the only American there lol)

Great podcast. From the moment I first heard Lagwagon, a show at EMOs in Austin, i was in love. They have been my favorite band ever since. I remember driving home from a show at the Backroom in Austin listening to LTAF and instantly being obsessed with May 16th. Everything about it pulled me in. I have listened to this song more than any other song ever. It's my go to song for when I feel super bummed. It has bulled me out of some dark places. A lot of Lagwagon and Joey songs have. I wonder if these guys know how much they truly mean to some people? I am thankful for all of these bands for everything and helping me grow and learn and thrive.
