British Motor Heritage Limited was established in 1975 to support owners and the marketplace by putting genuine components for classic British cars back into manufacture, using original tools wherever possible. Since 2001, when the company was acquired from BMW, it has been successfully run as an independent company.
British Motor Heritage is the largest organisation of its type in the world. With access to unparalleled knowledge, authentic production information and original drawings and patterns, the company manufactures previously unobtainable body parts for British classic cars. It occupies a unique position since it assembles 32 derivatives of body shells and has built total production volume of over 7,000 for the MGB, MGR V8, MG Midget, Austin-Healey Sprite, Triumph TR6, Original Mini and Mini Clubman using original press tools and assembly jigs.
Six years on I watch this video At the time back in 1968 I was afourteen year old, this rally passed right through the middle of our farm in NE Victoria full competitive stage. First car appeared just after midnight, I can still remember the lights , the sound of the cars. The cars continued through until late morning next day, I know my dad spoke to one of the female teams as they drove through our farm. To this day it rates as one of the most exciting events ever. I note the comment about rhe Citreon, unfortunately not all competitive section roads were able to be closed off as was the case through our farm
Was not the last MGB to be made, that was a white MGB that went to the US. The MGB by this time was limping into the 1980's. Jaguar, Rover, Triumph by this time was trying to push the TR7 which of course no one wanted either here or overseas.
After having restored several rusted out Bs, sills, floors, doors quarters, I wonder if there is anything done differently with the new bodyshell to improve its longevity?. It seems so worthwhile to invest in a shell over battling rust on an original. I wonder if there are plans to add MGA to the repertoire? Steve from US
Do you know if any of the tooling for the Marina or Maxi has survived? That'd be good if they could go back into production. Despite all the hate they get, they're decent cars.
I’ve just bought a Renovo triple pack for my black soft top and used the cleaner twice, scrubbing well, then put the stain on in the garage, out of the Sun. It looked ok,, so after two days drying time I tried the second coat they recommend, and I now have pale, almost white, patches. Any ideas? Will a third coat help, or will that make it worse?

As a former employee of this company, I can confirm all the staff are true classic car artisans & take great pride in there work. Also great to see in this modern age & green recycling, an old car being bough back to life & being able to be used again on the road. To Graham (M.D.) all all the team keep up the good work !!
Wonderful. We are so lucky to have BMH available to us. What other marque except maybe the '57 Chevys have these kinds of factory-correct panels available to them?
As a younger person who has owned an MGB for more than 13 years, this video made me want to sell my car and walk away from the pretentiousness of the turkeys pretending that the MGB isn't a mass produced car with questionable manufacturing quality from the get-go. Our cars are excellent in design and adequate in engineering, at best. Pretending that they're somehow museum-worthy and precious is plain silly. Get some perspective, buy an XKE if you're looking for fame
Do you think this is how the built the original cars, by hand, with no robots? I realise they would have been on an assembly line with a lot more workers but all hand built?
I had the pleasure of driving and inspecting this Mini yesterday as my friend David in the US is the proud new owner. Very nice car that drives as well as it looks, smooth, quick and nimble. Great times with great people and their cars, a dream come true for the new owner and long term security for the Mini with a great family.
I thought Moss Motors out of California bought British Heritage? Nevertheless, Moss Motors charge $999.00 for a Wing/Fender so God knows what a full Body would cost. There’s a company in LA that charge $375.09 for a Fender.
