Melvin has been licensed since 1989 in California and Massachusetts but has been selling/working in the Greater Boston area and Suburbs since 1996 and has a deep understanding of the local real estate market. He has held several leadership positions within the Greater Boston Association of Realtors, including Past-President (2022), President-Elect, Vice President, and Treasurer, and has been a Federal Political Coordinator for the National Association of Realtors since 2019. He has also served on the boards of several organizations, including the Massachusetts Association of Realtors Government Affairs Committee, YouthBuild Boston, Youth Enrichment Services, Urban Bankers, and the Local Boston Housing Chapter of the N.A.A.C.P.
I was counting on a video like this from NAR to distribute to members and see it blasted on YT. Any educated buyer would dismiss data from NAR, because it is only accurate after the downturn has cleared. They did a massive revision to the sales numbers in 2011 after the downturn was thought to be over. If you doubt, search for “NAR revises sales numbers 2007 to 2011”. You can see all the NAR blasts of this video if you just search “housing bubble” and sort by upload date. I am sure most of the realtors are good people, but their being used by NAR to misinform again on the downturn of another bubble. Sad and disgusting. Be an informed buyer and really ask yourself if you want to pay more than you should and put yourself in excess debt so others can line their pockets.
