He did a really good job with us, sadly the goalkeeper and chairman contrived to get him out of the job because they were shitty people. We dropped like a stone as soon as he left, but I thank him for the work he did at Town, def one of our better managers of the last 20 years.
I had trial for Rovers at age of 15 and 45 years later I always remember being dropped off the minibus at the top of Royate Hill near Eastville Park, by Gordon Bennett saying I was not required anymore.
Typically Ollie. Always self deprecating. I watched him play many times and he always looked like the smartest bloke on the pitch. Fantastic distribution.
I used to watch Ian very early in his career at Eastville and Olly was new in the first team and ripped into Portsmouth from the right wing. A man near me turned to the man next to him and said “Your Ian’s been good today.” He quietly said that he’d “been ok”. You could tell he was someone who didn’t praise lightly but you also see he was bursting with pride at his young son. A nice moment.
I was at the game, 3-0 to the Gas against City. Brilliant performance by the Rovers that day, and a well deserved win. Some excellent games against our local rivals back then. It’s just a pity that they have progressed, modernised their stadium, and oare out of our league( in many ways) nowadays. Still rather be a Gashead though!
My prediction would be that Lampard will take the England U17s/U20s. Looking at what he has been up to this week, I think he is lining himself up with the FA and looks to be making himself Southgate 2.0 and the next in line to throne for whenever Gareth Southgate goes (probably in 5-10 years time). Lampard seems like he is the only person who matches the FA's criteria, so I am sure they will be desperate to take him on and with Lampard's family situation, I reckon it might suit him quite well too.
Do you have to expect it ? Why not the club pay him extra and try get in the premier. You can’t keep flogging everything and everybody ffs. That’s all Barnsley do. They ll never get anywhere bar div 1. Up down up down flog flog flog that’s all they ever do. They ll never get into the prem again
Winning at Anfield was a lot less to do with Ancelloti being good than it had with Liverpool being without a truckload of players for the game, though.
Santos is a nice bloke but I think he will get sacked after the next Euros if he does not win it again with Portugal. Everyone in Portugal wants Mou to coach the national team. He is a legend for us! Wolves could be interesting if he got total support! I reckon he will still go to a top team. Mentioning Celtic is ridiculous... Klopp got 5 years to do something with Liverpool. Mou does not get a break from anyone in English football. It is almost embarrassing the treatment he is given with the amount of silverware he collected throughout the years in 4 different European Leagues!
This was recorded straight after Mourinho was sacked and Ten Hag was as big as 40/1 in some places. He's now 2/1 and if he gets appointed we'd love to do a video just on him
@@thesackrace9936 Ten Haag's stat's are crazy and I never knew he had already managed B. Munich's b - team. Ten Hag’s done a fantastic job in Amsterdam where he has accrued a 73.29% win rate from 161 games, with an eye-popping 432 goals scored. But, this summer could be the right time to take on an exciting new challenge. He previously managed Bayern Munich’s second team and should the Bavarian outfit come calling for his services for the top job he’d surely jump at the chance to return. That's amazing and we must remember that his young Ajax team also tore RM and Juve a new asshole in the CL and we were very lucky to beat them. I actually think had Ajax beaten us they would have went on to beat Liverpool in the final. Ajax have scored 432 goals under Haag, and the amount accumulated from the players sold to foreign clubs from this young team came to 225 million.... which means Haag has earned Ajax 225 million euros. That's a stunning profit so in my view Spurs should snap Haag up as fast as possible. And the fan base need to know these facts which will start a fire under their asses to get behind him and back his signing. Ajax would easily stay in our top four - six and Haag would have the choice of a better quality of player at Spurs.. This is a no brainer for me as he's 100% the best choice before Nagalsman who's done nothing in the game yet compared to what Haag has done.. The German league is rubbish after B. Munich so I'm not getting blown away by Nagalsman's work with Leipzig as a pretty poor Liverpool made light work of his team to be honest. What do you think? and can you get these Ten Haag stat's circulating around the Spurs fan base on the net? Or maybe you prefer a different manager? I'm 100% behind the signing of Ten Haag as I think he'll transform our club from top to bottom and bring us where we need to be.
@@dfstarborn We 100% Agree. Check out our latest piece on him... www.thesackrace.com/news/22nd-april-2021/why-erik-ten-hag-represents-an-alluring-option-for-tottenham
@@thesackrace9936 Thanks a bunch of banana's lol. I hope and pray he's our next manager and I'll checkout this link now. You can copy and paste my short statistic's writing and pass it on to whatever channel you want if you wish to do so to start a campaign to get him in. I really think he's the right man for our club right now with the way we are run. WOW! And that's your latest piece or as you say "our latest piece." COOOOL! I'm so excited I hope this comes to reality with Haag as I'd love him at Spurs. Ajax have just one the league and cup over in Holland so he might feel it's time to move on to another project. LOL, as i had to re-edit this because the link i was reading from before hand was this very link that you sent me as I never knew that you and your friends were behind it.. BRILLIANT article friend and it's got me beaming at the thought of Haag coming to Spurs.. Fingers crossed then.
@@thesackrace9936 Hey, I was just over at Matt Hayes Tottenham channel and he had a guest on with breaking news that Spurs are to approach Gaultier of Lille to take the vacant managerial position at Spurs. The reporters name is Alex Euro Expert on RU-vid so I just left him a message asking him to reveal his source since he looks like he's no more than 16 years of age looking like Harry Potter. Can you confirm anything because I searched google and nothing has come up about Gaultier?
Allegri ... master tactician .. and we may even get Dybala and some Italian center backs because of him being there too Rodgers is not gonna win nothing .. he will get points and then we are gonna start losing after April ...
I'm not with this fella. Who cares if there's a rebuild. Instant success is 100% off the cards with this squad unless we rebuild our awful defence and chuck loads of money at it, which seems unlikely. We need a boost in recruitment and some fresh young talent. Kane or no Kane
I think Brendon Rogers would be the best person for the job - Nahelsmann would be interesting but more of a risk, they’re they only two worth going for.
