I’m happy that Czech Republic and Slovakia remain good brotherly friends to this day and that there was no war between the two nations in the 32 years since dissolution. It’s heartbreaking that further east families are still fighting each other to the death in former Soviet states and to a lesser extent the Yugoslav states. Nothing is more devastating than watching your country and the institutions that you devoted your life to collapse, the country you were born in, grew up in and lived in suddenly fall into the history books.

The banners don't say 'Day of Victory': They just say 'Victory'. I think Russia is declaring victory over NATO in Ukraine. A few months premature, perhaps.
It's called the victor banner, made as a report of the commander of the 3rd assault army to head of political administration about the fight for Reichstag, later in 2nd of July, the victory banner placed on the Reichstag, the banner read to: "150th rifle order of Kutuzov, 2nd class idritsa division, 79th rifle, corps 3rd shock army, 1st Belorussian front"
This is my favorite Soviet song. The sound of determination, the optimism, the vision of better world. By our hands, glory to the workers of the world! Down with capitalism, down with Imperialism. Together, in mutual effort! The anthem for those who still believe!
