I didn't realize HDR was on so the colors look awful in the video capture, my bad. Also, yes I know I put the wrong potions on for Viper lol (Also, when I refer to "Red" and "Green" for the Viper positionals at first, I'm talking about the Skill Icons, not the Sword Gauge)
Honestly only dragons dogma can have such nutty speedrun tactics, like merking an npc to fail a quest to continue faster is insane, prob saved like 20 - 30 minutes cause fuck that castle raid shit, shooting the ballistas did nothing for me I don't think they ever actually hit even if i was dead on
Sick run, but can I ask why you used a flower every time you kicked the ox at the start? I get it heals it but surely you could kick a few times then use one?
I didn't really get the thing where some older fans weren't a fan of 6, but after playing some, and seeing the others, 6 definitely has a different vibe
As someone who grew up with 4th and 5th gen music, I actually rather enjoy 6's ost I know people keep bringing up Rusted Pride and Contact with You, but there's a lot of memorable stuff like: Fight or Flight Silent Encounter Rough and Decent Unbreakable High Pressure The Man who would Burn the World Cries of Coral ALLMIND (one of my top faves for the OST) Nothing wrong with disliking it of course, but it seems like a lot of the complaints are along the lines of "muh nostalgia". Give it a few years, and us AC fans will appreciate it a lot more
I can see why they changed music style, most of these bangers do not work really well with the overall mood but the title theme? Goddamn that works. It really puts you in the mood for an heartbreaking tragic story
Idk the last time you checked but there’s a good bit of them now. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b3N3YkbeqWY.htmlsi=Ea-hrUdj_gDIAyKs there’s a couple playlists of them out there, I like this one a lot
Yeah lol, captain tapirus is my favourite. Been looking for dawn to home, but it appears to only be in the 3 hour playlist, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Qkp_HLnfkAU.html ^ this has a few more of this songs but not the entire collection. @@strictlybananas
VI is my first AC game. A month or so before it came out I dug into the series' lore through RU-vid videos and instantly got hooked by the music. I was able to get my hands on the 20th anniversary OST and I can see where you are coming from, so many memorable songs and great music, cosmos, mechanized memories, day after day, all great stuff. I also wish they had taken that direction. Still love what we got though!
My only problem with this is, and please hear me out, is that none of this feels like it belongs in AC 6. The tone of the music compared to the situation you're in simply doesn't match. I like the Idea, and the older gen's had some hella bangers, but I can't see AC6 with anything but what it's been given.
I think literally any AC game’s soundtrack is better than 6’s honestly. This game kicks so much ass overall too which only makes the lack of music hurt even more haha
Not gonna lie here. I'm not a big fan of old AC music. I'm also not a big fan of the new AC6 soundtrack with the exception of Balteus theme and Steel Haze. I was really hoping we'd see more music in the vein of Ace Combat. Ace Combat 7 had incredibly music and I think the style of music would fit Armored Core beautifully.
I d'ont have the nostalgia cause I only played AC6 so for me those songs seem weirdly out of place and unfitting to the game lol. But I respect the nostalgia feeling
yeah i agree, its very good music but i much prefer 4th 5th and old gen stuff. still, the ost has bangers, steel haze (rusted pride) and balteus theme goes hard. but, I love me some precious park.
Adding in the grimdark bleakness that is Souls-like theming manifesting into the game is probably why the OSTs had to be more ambient. Maybe if you weren't already an augmented human you'd have some cowboy tunes as G13 with the boys (and it gets more ambient the more augments you get) and other factions you side with. One thing I do notice from the old games are how almost casual some tracks feel without context, almost as some of the older games are build fighters to 6's mainline Gundams. I wonder how From would maneuver a plot to give it a warranted math-rock-y, simulation atmosphere while keeping the same graphics as 6's without 'toyifying' things.
The augmented human is not a good argument, because technically all the AC4 Links are augmented yet the music is not this bland. The problem is they try to do this boring mass appeal shit that seriously needs to fuck off. If they want moody music why not just pull something like Last Raven, it's ambient yet still super catchy.
@WFoong98 Where no augments might still be normal, my thought is that it could be whatever the pilot puts on the radio. By first gen you'd have some highs, so things might get a bit exciting (Sulla). Between late 2nd and 3rd, things get trippier with acid. Then by the fourth things start to get more withdrawn unless something really makes you want to use your augmented skills, like a pulse shield and a million rockets--to reflect the player character's mental state. Maybe be 7th gen and up you start to hear nothing or more concerning stuff, although with the current thing with Ayre it's a harder sell. On a more general approach, I can see something space operatic or choral or orchestra, but it'll be difficult to separate a sense of despair and hopelessness from the main plotline I feel. @skaltermomofthree7394 With From's games following things like Old blood, The Dark Sign, Coral--specifically for Coral, Rubicon and AC6, if you add the music like in the video, it'll inevitably clash with the bigger picture without a specific approach. It's a matter putting coffee in a clear glass instead of a mug, but if one were to make a clear coffee mug and put water in it it'd end up not feeling as out of place as it would be otherwise.
the music clashing with the tone is the point in AC series really. You are supposed to be indifferent to the mission you take, it's just another job. In most AC games only the last few missions have music matching the tone, for example Fall when fighting Joshua in AC4. IMO AC6 OST misses the mark, not only due to departure from the "clashing tone" but it also doesnt do the atmospheric tone well. It doesnt know where it wants to be. Exceptions are Balteus BGM that does the tone thing well and that one fight near an ending that mimics AC4 rock fusion. I had hoped that they went all in with Vangelis atmospheric direction as implied in the first trailer, would be interesting to hear smooth synth sax during fast fights implying ur vegetative body simply wants to end the mission, stare at the ceiling fan and drink coffee (thru a drip bag). But I guess they simply dont know which direction AC6 should go
