There are some fundamental parts that should be improved first and foremost. Why cant I just rename files directly in the model browser? Also.. there should be a simple "1 click" (or at least very few clicks) copy function of an assembly with parts into a new one exactly the same but with all parts renamed according to a specified formula. For example replace "01" in all model names with "02"... or whatever. That shouldnt require more than 1 click + the renaming equation stuff + "ok". Imagine the amount of time spent by everyone doing this rediculous process manually over and over...... There is a copy function now where you can add a suffix of prefix.. but not the one you would want.. namely "replace x with y". So you have to sit and manually replace a number on all parts. Its r-i-d-i-c-u-l-o-u-s. Even Wordpad in windows has a find-replace text function..... Why is that missing in Inventor making a completely fundamental function useless for absolutely no reason??
This is all good, of course, but the tool is not improving in such areas as surface modeling, freeform and generative design - these are key areas for a modern engineering approach to product development. The sheet parts were tightened to a normal level, but the rest of the improvements were not provided. With this approach, this product will not be in demand, as well as the Fusion 360. Serious companies will not buy a cloud product. And the average user needs to work not only with sheet metal parts. The development has reached a dead end somewhere...
I think your team hasn't any cominication with inventor users, A lot of bog in adaptive option A lot of bog in drawing view and is very slow to generate drawing file as exporting design, Model state feature trend is very false... Every years you publish simple promot... That eny of them isn't useful...inventor is good software but it's don't have good support
We need more advanced key binds settings. In most softwares and even video games, you can bind the side mouse buttons to various commands. However, inventor does not allow this without manually changing the side mouse buttons to keys.
I recently came across the auto-creating drawing feature and found it brilliant. We have over 50 designers, and I can't imagine them exporting projects to Fusion. It's too time-consuming and complicated. The generative design feature should be part of the default Inventor interface. We use Autodesk Vault, and it's connected to our ERP system. Using Fusion is just a waste of our time.
I have been trying to learn Fusion 360 but have reached a ceiling, I was looking for training courses at my local college but they only do Autocad and Inventor. What are the advantages of inventor over Fusion 360?
There is an easier and faster way, insert the picture, draw a line to match the length of the object, then add the desired dimension to the line, the whole sketch including the picture will scalle accordingly.
Why does every basic thing one wants to achieve, need like 10 extra steps to get there? Like having to draw construction lines due to lack of relative placement, e.g. not being able to constrain a geometry equidistantly to 2 others. Inability to trim or delete geometries and not being able to switch around modeling steps due to that. Not being able to modify measurements directly on the part, but having to open the specific step or it's subsketch first and close it again afterwards. And why aren't the existing constraints markings shown even though on the bottom left it is set to visible, unless made invisible and visible again? So much hassle and all unintuitive.
what if i need to create some drawings for each configuration? is it possible to create different drawings for different configurations without having conflicts between configurations from this same part?
