Gardening in constraint spaces is an art. I am here to journal my experiences and ideas of taking care of my plants, both indoor and outdoor. Beware, no expert talks here :)
I have some questions. Does this stink if done improperly? I have a huge roly poly infestation in my property, does this contribute to their ecosystem? Thanks in advance.
If you maintain the right moisture in the pile, it should be fine.. i also have slug issues in my garden this year, but the compost seem to be doing ok.
Your garden is looking so pretty. Slugs have decimated my plants as well this year ☹Do you fertilize all your pot plants and if so, how often? Due to all the slugs I've put more things in pots this year to get them off the ground, not sure it has helped though!
Your garden is beautiful…I started my vegetable garden 2-3 weeks late….it is NOW, end of July and - flourishing with many San Marzano tomatoes, chives, cherry tomatoes, hot chili peppers 🌶️ of many varieties, many herbs: oregano, basil, - just waiting for the vegetables to ripen a bit more. Will keep you posted. THANK YOU for sharing your garden.
I will review this video over and over again…until next SPRING- planning my garden for next year will be a priority for sure. THANK YOU - phenomenal inspiration- you are appreciated!
WHOA… fabulous tour - enjoyed very much … slugs, I read that egg shells, diatomaceous earth and coffee grounds can help deter the slugs … we have had an unusually DRY summer here on the east coast, New Jersey, USA and a drip irrigation on a small scale is in order for my vegetable garden…next year I will incorporate flowers - like your garden …. THANK YOU … you are a positive inspiration and appreciated.
Thank you so much for the name.. that helps me a lot.. there are a lot of bulbs planted by our owner, i am still learning their names. Yeaa weather has been crazy. Now getting used to it and accepting the fact that I have to garden with the slugs. :)
I want to start my composting like you, but I am wondering if I can just buy some soil to use as I don't want to use the soil that's already in my posts since it has fertilizers in it. Can I buy some soil to start my composting and then add in my green scraps and brown material?
Soil of any type can be used as a brown matter, you don’t have to get new soil to start a compost.. you could also use cocopeat as browns in case they are available.
@@bringnatureinside Thank you for this information. One more thing. I have a bucket from home depot that I am going to use and see that people are always putting holes all around, top and bottom of the bucket. How many holes exactly should I put at the bottom of the bucket and around the sides? And the top?
PESTO - wonderful - YOU are a positive inspiration - small space with love, food and peace of mind - you and your family are eating healthy…PERFECT! YES, YES, YES…it is worth every moment - peaceful place - gardening
Thank you for the tour…wonderful variety of foods, flowers and herbs for your family to enjoy…beautiful and inspirational - roses - ENGLISH ROSES - are beautiful - slugs need to be taken care of for sure…i do NOT have the answer however, will pray! Strawberries need time to mature and you will more fruit - next year the crop will be flourishing -
SUPER IDEA… pinching the tops very important … love cooking with basil … and the aroma - will try your method of drying … thank you for your time … well explained … lovely videos …
THANK YOU…incredibly talented, knowledgeable - appreciate your work and sharing -- YOUR GARDEN, flourishing with beauty, food for your family…EXCELLENT-radishes, lettuce -
i've watched so many composting videos. some of them would put one off trying it. i'm so glad i found this video today, lady you are brilliant, thank you so much for this video. i'm going out right now to begin coposting. thank you and God Bless from Ireland. ☘
Hello! I just wanted to thank you for the time you take out of your daily life to share with us. I've been watching your channel since you were in the apartment with the balcony garden. You gave me so much inspiration while also being a balcony gardener like yourself. I also have a small backyard garden now, like yourself, which I am finding some troubles with. I don't have as many slug problems, but I do follow some other gardeners who deal with loads of slugs! GroVeg here on RU-vid has a great video for dealing with slugs, so I thought i would share it with you. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VJvUwkFZeOM.htmlsi=FloRNwPI9SGQQPO1 Hope this helps you! He has a lot of great tricks for slugs, pests, and garden help as well :)
Slugs have been a nightmare everywhere this year. They eat things that they normally aren't interested in, but I'm surprised to see your snapdragons decimated 😮 have you tried nematodes? It's a natural way to deal with slugs.
Slugs are a real curse this year... Just one tip, the Slugs use the watering system to climp into your "collars" and also the walls of your bed are higher than the collars and to close to them. Maybe a real copper band on the outside of the beds would help....
I do love your garden. I live in chicago area and not sure how cold your location in Germany get. Chicago as you know gets very cold and so I try to grow as many as I could starting April right after the last frost here. Those lilies in your garden are called day lilies! The pansies I grow in April as they start to fade once the heat becomes too much. The flowers do get faded and then slowly die within few days in hot weather. Mine all bloomed from April and a week ago in June they all died with heat. But the 2 months they looked very pretty !
Hey thanks for your comment. Here it gets cold, similar to zone 8, is my guess. Thanks for the name of the lily, it is a day lily. This time the summer has been all rainy here, that is why the pansies stayed for a bit longer. But now they seem to fade out, I need to replace them with something else. :)
