The only thing Duolingo did for me was teach me how to read in Spanish. After I completed the entire thing, and I was in for a rude awakening whenever I tried to speak the language. lol

@@abrqzx That's great ! I recommend learning French because it will be easy to learn since you can speak Spanish. I'll learn Dutch soon because I love Dutch!

Good tipps, most people dont wanna leave the *comfort zone* and think by watching series and listening to music they learn a language. Guess 90% of us have to put a lot of effort and time in learning basics like phrases, vocabulary, grammar (with focus on the neccessary things not like in school) in order to build a good foundation and also apply what we´ve learned. From there, talking to natives, watching movies etc. become more effective. During the foundation time those ways are rather additionial but not a replacement for active learning.
