Hi everyone, Welcome to my channel!! Here you will find a variety of mostly music related activities and performances. With RU-vid I have found a way to combine my two very different styles of writing music into one place. I used to be primarily a singer/songwriter. I performed with my guitar and uke as my main instruments. However since receiving an iPad for my birthday in 2011 all of that has changed. I started to write primarily instrumental music using mostly my iPad. This led to hardware synths and then back around to acoustic instruments after I severed my middle finger of my guitar hand in October 2015. Since that time I have been on a new journey with several new acoustic instruments that I have fallen in love with specifically the Mountain Dulcimer, The Native American Style flute as well as the Tongue Drum. I LOVE MUSIC!! Hope you enjoy your stay!! please feel free to share my links! Peace!! If you can please see my bandcamp page and download some of my original music! :)
@@jonogoodvibez3898 awesome!! That’s great and while you wait enjoy all the great videos I keep seeing !! Thank you again for watching and enjoy the drum !!
Hey there thanks for watching. I got it on ebay but I don’t see that he sells there anymore but I did find his Facebook business page so if you want to look at his flutes he is still making them it seems ! facebook.com/share/ZWcyDCwbFvELh4ZL/?mibextid=LQQJ4d
I really like this. One gets a sense that you are feeling your way along, experimenting, but it is nonetheless very atmospheric and interesting to follow! Nicely done!
Exactly and that’s why I probably didn’t release it when I did it but I guess the point of my videos besides trying to make the music I feel and hopefully reach folks is to also inspire to experiment. I used to be so neurotic about soloing or improvising and then I realized that a light under a bushel will never shine. And now at almost 61 I think “if not now when ?” Thanks so much for watching and your thoughtful comment. ❤
Visually, I like the one with the classical headstock best, then the tenor, then the blue one. However, sound wise, I like the blue one best with the tenor being a close second, and the classical-style in third. Honestly though, they all look and sound pretty darn great. Vangoa is making some nice instruments for a good price. Great video!
@@musicalmiscellany and did you notice that I was wearing my brace cause actually recorded it right before my surgery but I got really busy with so many other videos and recovery and OT and everything that I never released it but I agree with you 100% with your pics of the favorite look and the favorite sound and about them making really good instruments for little money
Nice demonstration of what you can do with the LiveDock. I have to agree... these 2 instruments sound absolutely fantastic together. The Rav fills in the low end so nicely. A++
@@musicalmiscellany thank you so much my friend. I’m so glad you liked it !! I had to figure out a way to listen to the music while improvising so I put the video on my iPad and listened to it with my headphones to play along. Not sure there is an “easier way “ to do this And I’m so glad you liked it ! :)
thanks so much,. Yes much better. I actually recorded this right before my surgery but between OT/ Work and my son's wedding etc. I never had a chance to release this video. Thanks so much for your kind well wishes!
This was sooo my speed. Awesome! One of my favorite concepts is combining acoustic sounds with electronic pads and effects. I just love the feel it creates. A+
You know it’s so funny that when I was editing the video I instantly thought of you. I must have been unknowingly channeling your vibes. Ha ha !! Thanks so much !! And thanks for all the good mojo !!!💕🎶
Cool mashup of imagery. I did something similar with my handpan hike videos but I just used the audio from the handpan and the imagery from the hike. I think your concept is better. Nicely done.
Awe thanks so much. It kind of came out of “necessity is the mother of invention”. I noticed that because I recorded the audio using the Shure my+ it sounded great but it also picked up a lot of that outdoor white noise ! It sounded like rain. So that’s when the lightbulb went off!! Thanks so much for watching and all your good vibes !!
i have the same mixer i got it from amazon it don't have the name on it like the others do now...what i did notice...is that cord u had hard time puting into the device...had the same issue i looked closly at it...they supplyed u with a mini Type C ,, not the type c plug...i supplied a type c plug from my various mixer and voylah...so they shipped us the wrong plug..i think its cause they confused the older model ..and just ship u the wrong cord im glad u was able to plug it in
@@Piktor201 thanks so much. Yes I don’t think it “caught on” I bought it about 6 years ago but don’t see too many people using them. Thanks so much for watching and writing :)
Hey Maria! Good to see you back at it. I enjoy your vids. I like that guitar too, and it sounds really nice through the rig! Yeah. That is a really nice sound for a nylon string guitar. I didn't even realize at first that it was nylon. Wow. Beautiful !
@@jimmyz2098 thanks so much. I appreciate your kind words. Yes my Husband surprised me with it. He called the Martin factory and they actually had just made one and he took me to play it and get it. Of course I fell in love with it. It has helped me return to guitar playing after my two surgeries on my left hand end of May !! Still in OT but making really good progress now. Thanks again for watching and all your nice words !!
Synido seems to make good stuff. I’m glad they sent you this. I like how compact it is but it seems like you’ll always need a few adapters with you due to the 1/8” TRS jacks. Still, I could see it being useful for mobile audio.
Yes agreed. I want to suggest that instead of that hard wired male lead. They use a usbC to lightning combo or just like it female so that all you need is the cord (either usb c to usbc or usbc to lightning. ) something like that. I was so bummed until I figured out the adapter issue with the 1/4 inch and also the usbc Luckily before I finished editing the video I got it all straightened out. Thanks again for watching ! :)
@@MariaCalfaDePaul I feel like so many audio products require various adapters now and it's so difficult to keep track of all the adapters and cables. Ugh. Frustrating.
@@musicalmiscellany yeah it was but now that it all works I think it can be pretty useful. I was beside myself at first so I’m glad I didn’t just pan it or give up on it. Synido was lovely when I told them my frustration and helped in finding a solution with the lightning It seems like they really stand behind their products and have some great ideas !! And very inexpensive compared to some name brands
That looks like something you could keep in the case with your instrument that you take places to play, like your guitar, portable synth etc. Then you can record using your phone anywhere. And once again Gracie steals the show. 💓
Is the plug end a 1/4" into the amp? You just answered that. Where are you getting the effects from? Its great that its in a two octave major key. So much you can do with that.
@@jetwoman10001 that’s funny I do the same thing. I start to ask RU-vidr a question while the video is playing and realize it’s been answered lol. No worries. Also it’s plugged into the Positive Grid mini amp which has effects that come from my iPhone They have an app. I believe 4 effects can be stored on the amp so actually don’t “need” to have the iPhone Thanks so much for watching
Very beautiful. Your flute playing is exquisite. Can you list what equipment you've been using and how recording this? I have been struggling to create. I will probably buy one of these drums. I would like to hear the electro-acoustic version.
Awe thanks so much. I used the Kosmosky direct to the zoom h5 recorder in multi mode. Then I used the zoom external xy microphone to play the flute over the drum. I listened in my headphones to the recording and played along. I’m so glad you enjoyed it and thank you so much for watching and writing.
This lyre is actually still meant to be played high to low it’s just a left-handed lyre. That curve side of the lyre is meant to rest against your body while the other side is held by the right hand leaving your left hand free to play from low to high.
@@stevesstrings5243 Thank you so much. Yes me too. It’s been a long haul very tough in the early stages. I’m only really playing nylon string at the moment. I can be the steel but for not as long at a time. The playing is now officially part of my therapy as my OT said I need to work on the strength now. It’s not exactly where it should be thanks for watching and your nice words and wishes !!
Thank you! I really wanted to know if the Behringer U-Control UCA222 connected _straight_ to the IPhone without any extra power... Exactly at 56s came my answer. Thank you!
Ah. You are very observant. Yes one of my never released videos. And yes that little volca can sure holds it own up against the much larger and more expensive opsix. But that opsix was a crazy price. It was when korg decided to discontinue and I got it straight from them for $300 out the door. ! Thanks so much for watching!!
@@musicalmiscellany awe that’s so nice of you to say. And it’s cool that you said that because I always seem to play the handpans and Tongue pans when I am stressed and they really do make me feel so much more peaceful!! Thanks for watching!!! 💕
I didn’t realize that little synth was so powerful. Sounds really good and the arps were really catchy. Speaking of synthesizers… I just spent the weekend at a synth convention in Chicago.
@@dreamdealer thanks so much and congratulations. I think you’re gonna love it and the sound design part actually keeps me busier than making music like I guess you’re so caught up and making these cool sounds anyway enjoy thanks again for watching.
Hi Maria hope you're hand is improving i have hand problems myself ( arthritis and Dupreynes contracture!) can i point you towards Jerry Rosa his channel is Rosa Stringworks Workshop, he's a retired luthier who used to build and repair high end mandolins & guitars yours looks like his its a traditional bluegrass F style he does a vlog everyday and teaches a free mandolin lesson every week he has a huge archive of his work on RU-vid, hopefully ill seeyou there...
