Vehicle Body repair specialist with a love for cars and motorcycles. My channel is aimed at anyone with similar interests. I have been in the vehicle auto repair trade for well over 20 years. I have run my own small body shop for the majority of these years. I started out at the age of 16 doing an apprenticeship for a local garage, i worked my way up through the trade developing my skills working with different people in different garages until i got to the point where i was able to open my own vehicle body repair shop. Due to unfortunate illnesses and events in my life i have somewhat scaled down my work load and will be now concentrating mainly on projects of my own. I hope to share some of these projects on my channel and to also hand down some useful knowledge. Thanks for reading and i hope you enjoy...
Pity the salt you guys have on the roads in the Uk,really kills cars unfortunately Has nice interior, and they are good buying these days Will come up nice, rear screen should really come out,but as you say big job😢
Yes pity about the salt but I guess we need it. As i mentioned in the video it would be a very big job to take the rear screen out. Having near 30 years of experience working on vehicles you learn to weigh the pro and cons and have an understanding of whats for the best at the time. At this point it was not worth upsetting the interior and risking damage to the interior/ screen or screen rubber. So this time round the screen was best to stay in and do it the way I did by pulling back the rubber. The metal was treated and this repair tends to last a while. Its a cost effective repair for the customer and nothing got damaged. I think all this was mentioned in the video but if not, thats why this time round it was best the screen stayed in..

@@Supercarlsunday sorry i saw in the comments you posted a link on ebay but it seems to be gone or not working anymore. Im actually based in Ireland but im being quoted mad prices just for the sill so im hoping to buy a decent one second hand
@benedictaagha277 don't get ansecind hand sill. Your wasting your time. There must be one on ebay somewhere. I will have another look at some point. Just working now. Send me a message to my work face book page C.A.H RACEREPS & VEHICLE BODY REPAIRS and I will try and find you one 👍
Hi Its not something I have had to look at on one of these. Could be a broken internal cable but without stripping and investigating i can't help, sorry.
Hello mate, I have watched this video a few times now and I really like your work. I couldn’t find a way to personally message you (don’t know how to lol) to enquire about you doing the same job for my VW Polo, same shape (2010 5 door). The car holds sentimental value to me as well as being my daily for at least the next few years until I can afford the dream whip. I am based near Newcastle and would be more than willing to drop my car off and cover any expenses. The side sills are bad but not horrendous and I would like the sills fully replaced and repainted like what you have done here rather than just patching it up so to speak like what a couple of people I’ve spoken to said they would do. in addition if you’d be interested there are some other minor rust spots on the car that I need taking care of. If you would be interested in helping me please do get in touch to discuss further, again I really like the standard of your work and there doesn’t seem to be anyone near me that would do as good a job. Cheers.
Thank you. If you go on Facebook my work page is on there. C.A.H RACEREPS & VEHICLE BODY REPAIRS. You can message me there or Instagram Supercarlsunday. Try the Facebook first. Many thanks Carl.
@martinlewis967 Thank you. Nice. Kr1 nice bike. I had a mate with one, went on the back on some back roads, very tight back roads and I have never and will never go on the back of a bike again lol.
I'm waiting for the chain and sprockets coming as I've had to match 520 race chain and sprockets. With only 4 days left to go its important to get the panels in paint for them to be cured properly, everything else, mechanical can be worked around the paint. There is a full plan with tick list of jobs to do. Painter is just one string to my bow, I actually went in to the trade as a panel beater and mechanic at the same time as thats what my employer wanted me to do. The paint side of it came later. Now 28 years on there is pretty much nothing I can't do myself which is the best way. I can do all my own fabrication work, paint work and engine rebuilds, its good to be able to do different thinks all the time. Keeps it interesting 😁.. Another fact, when I was doing my apprenticeship I used to bike 5 miles a day up the steepest hills, do a days graft then bike home, come rain, shine or snow. And it used to snow and be very cold in winters also pitch black on a morning and a night when I bikes them 5 miles back home. Money was poor as well, but I stuck in at it. I don't know anyone that's still in the trade from when I started. Also when I was of age the lads would take me to the pub on a Friday when it was £1 a pint and id bike home laughing my head off drunk after 😁👍
Wire brush is no where near as good! You will be there a lot longer using wire wheel on a dia grinder. Wire wheel on a drill, still won't strip as quick, drills are a lot heavier and don't spin as fast. Grinder, is o.k with a carbon wheel but you have to be careful the area your striping doesn't get to hot and warp. Grinder will struggle to get intricate areas. Milwaukee mini grinder is just an awsome bit of kit 👌
Oh, got the same issue with bottom bumper mountings, both of them... They broke off after minor tap into something(((. I Replace them with self made aluminium mountings and couple of bolts
Yes lol, our little ride out. My friend took off on a hill and snapped a foot peg so we had to cable tie it on for the rest of the journey lol. Its all good fun 😁👍
Yes, nightmare job. If its on the 3ma I've done a cheat Job before. I managed to pick the seal out on the oil side, I shaved the ridge away and fit it in with a sealer. It's been spot on since 👌. Possibly have a video on my channel of the job I did.
@pietervanbreda4360 Where are you located? Tdr nice 👌.. I should have bought one when they where cheap, but then you can't have everything lol. I bet its good fun!
@@Supercarlsunday its loading up hideously when you slow down you can here you trying clear it out when your doing that strange thing going in circles near your van 🤷♀️
Going in circles so people can see the bike! The bike is jetted perfect. Its been on the rolling road at Mick Abbeys, if you know who he is? I will give you a bit of information on the 250 3ma as its obvious you don't know much about the bike. They like to be thrashed. They don't like low revs and come alive at around 7-8000rpm where they like to be. If the jetting where any leaner on full chat I would be having a very bad day. Its just what there like.
@@Supercarlsunday sorry probably came across as being negative, yep had a few 3ma’s absolutely understand there fragile nature at the top when there running clean off the bottom but its always a compromise. Yours sounds fantastic on the throttle i would personally prefer a little leaner pilot and possibly needle clip position to help it not to load so much but thats all personal preference. What did mains did you end up with in the end ? Pipes sound mega by the way
You have kind of answered your own question there... Any leaner and I'm not going to feel confident on full throttle. Understanding how fragile they are you should understand how we came to these settings and decided to leave it there. The bike performs well and doesn't want to be any leaner as mentioned. People get carried away, I'm not racing the bike... Not every 3ma is the same when it comes to jetting, what works well for one can be totally different for another. I've spent time in the groups discussing this subject with many 3ma owners. I'm happy with where mine is at. Those JL pipes do sound well full chat, thank you 👌👍
How are you doing with head gaskets in Britain? How much is it? How long to wait? I have only 3 old metal ones, I ordered aluminum gaskets on the hydrofractor, because I found only one option-a disposable metal one like in the video for a lot of money. By the way, can you tell me what temperature the thermostat is set to? The minimum that I was able to fit is 82 degrees. Initially, there was 65, most likely from an outboard motor, I did not find any analogues, but perhaps there is some kind of part number? the manual costs from 62 to 72.
Hi. I think I may have to put it together with another metal one for now. Until I get one made. I have an event that I need to take the bike to you see. I do not know off the top of my head thermostat temperature. I'm building another bike to be raced while im doing the tzr at the same time.
Hello, thank you. You can buy them for the 1kt model. You can buy them new. But if you can do what I have and repair, that would save some money. Respect to Russia from the UK 🙌.
@@Supercarlsunday I've seen them on yambits. But now there are problems with delivery, the valve will go for 2-3 months and will be more expensive than 3 times. Summer is already over and I want to ride)
@@Supercarlsunday Due to the sanctions, it is necessary to ship the parcel through Kazakhstan or Georgia. Now it is easier to buy from Japan, but it turns out to be very expensive there and it is much easier to take a used donor from an auction.
@@Supercarlsunday But so far my valves are in satisfactory condition. One is generally in good condition. I bought this bike a year ago in very poor condition. I have overhauled the engine, now I have disassembled everything to the screw, sorted out the fork, the progression. I'm going to paint the small parts and assemble them. What made me happy is that the ypvs block is alive. Of the minuses, the front plastic is in very poor condition, I will ride naked for now,
Thanks, yes they have really done a great job bringing this old retro speed block design back for this one. The pearl white and flake in the gold wheels look fantastic in the sun 🌞 👍
April 2024 and I just tested some of my silver with this test. Specially my scottsdale which looks to be good stuff. I do not purchase silver from private owners unless its Constitutional silver, not worth faking constitutional for the most part.
