That’s cool to know! If I can request info for a specific item. …. Whhooo wait a couple months. NOT GOOD. I can pump out specific items as requested in an hour or less. An hour at most. This is based off a multi million dollar project. Easy.
Due to the accuracy of autocad and my ability to design the whole universe molecule per molecule. It’s been very achievable on my end. But I only get usefull data free m the manufactures. Not arcat.
I’ve been doing BIM since 2006 and have provided accuracy to 1/16 of an inch. But I had to always do so myself due to the limited accuracy of arcat. I have been aware of arcat since early 2000 and it has improved, yet never satisfactory!
I like the 1 client per quarter idea! I am all about having less projects and ones that are super interesting. Being an architect is a high risk game and high stress. If you want to enjoy retirement - you need to control the stress.

Great commentary on the ways AE firms can increase their revenue. Note, however, there are liability issues related to expanded product and service offerings. In many instances the average AE firm would not be insured for some of the things discussed such as product sales and purchases...particularly if it's done online. Great idea for firms to consider, I just hope they are careful regarding the potential liability.
