Totally agree with you. Grew up going to DW and as an adult have been to all the parks worldwide. Tokyo Disney Resort is by far the best. Thanks for sharing.
I like meeting characters and nothing tops the quality interactions at Disneyland. I dont like that they crowd the characters and its a war to get thier attention at Tokyo
Wow, I already wanted to visit Japan, this just seals the deal! After seeing more of the Tokyo parks one has to wonder why the US parks aren't at an even higher standard. Lord knows they have the budget!
Thanks, Cloverloop! This vid spoke to me on so many levels. Been to Tokyo Disney resort 3x in the past year. I live 10 mi north of Anaheim. Case closed. 😅
Splash was not racist. Bob Iger has ruined Disney, and they have lost their way. At least OLC still runs their Tokyo park like the Disney I loved and remembered. Go woke, go broke. Disney has become way too political.
Too bad they didn't stick with some proper southern with the characters speaking in a southern accent from Tennessee to Alabama. And speaking of Alabama, didn't Disney learn nothing from that song by Alabama that shares the same name as the movie (which should have been part of the silver age of Disney animation). And don't get me started with a movie that shares the same company as a few of my crushes that I could name right about now.
Bro is about to get cooked, boiled, sautéed, grilled, roasted, baked, fried, steamed, poached, seared, boiled, stewed, and stir fried by the entire Disney community.
I’ve never been to Disney World (my first trip starts in 10 days!) and even I know how controversial this list is. My jaw hit the floor several times. But maybe making a controversial list was the point? He’s certainly going to get engagement on this video. 😅
I wish they would have made a full-length animated feature called Splash Mountain with state-of-the-art animation. A film that could be completely separated from the live-action film, so that there would be no controversy, and that it would be exciting. I have been wishing this for 30 years, if the Disney Company had released a full-length animated film Splash Mountain, basing it off of the ride, it would have been such a huge hit, especially in the mid to late 90s.
The movie nor the ride is racist. The fact that they erased an original black story with a ride based on a movie based on a fairy tale that wasn’t even a black story in the first place is racist.
I'm going to Disneyland + DCA for the first time next week - this is a great video. I don't know much about DCA compared to Disneyland, so any information helps lol
Splash Mountain was not racist, nor was the movie, "Song of the South." Splash Mountain was fun, spooky, followed a great storyline, and had great animatronics. The ride ended with a celebration featuring one of the greatest movie songs ever written, "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Da." Splash Mountain was also one of the most popular rides at Disneyland and Disney World. So DEIsney kills the ride and replaces it with a ride based on a mediocre movie, with poor storytelling, craptacular animatronics, empty spaces, and the most forgettable song in Disney ride history. In the words of Donaldus Magnus: "Everything woke turns to shit."
Disney has erased African American history. Splash mountain was based on characters and stories which were told for generations in Africa and by black Americans. The first black man to ever win an Oscar did so while telling these characters’ story. Splash Mountain was possibly the most rich tribute to black history possible in a Disney theme park. Splash was an amazing opportunity to have conversations about black history whenever any rider asked “Where are these characters from?.” They have opted instead to replace all this with something that severely lacks depth in its “story” telling. I don’t even think Tiana was a bad choice if they had to retheme. The execution is so poor though that they’ve truly ruined this ride and its significance.
