Heh, this reminds me of when I was really little and went to a Japanese garden and saw two little girls my age wearing kimonos and I was so jealous. I’ve always wanted to wear one but with me being a boy, and not wanting to be canceled that’s never gunna happen.
I don't think that should stop you. My younger brother is also fascinated by the level of care and detail more commonly found in female kimonos, compared to the muted, subtle nature of male kimonos. Part of it is a historical change with style preferences. But still, I think anyone would look great in a kimono. It just depends on the art/story you'd like it to show ☺️🙏✨
Kimono was introduced to Japan by Korean monk as funeral clothing in plain tan material color which Japenise copied it to make it into their own clothing with coloring because they had none. Japenise history only go back 2000 years compare to 5000 years for Korea.

some kimono are tailored to the wearers height, as womens kimono usually corresponds to average japanese female’s height (around 5’1-5’3) a taller lady would have a longer kimono as wearing the average kimono would go down to her calves rather than traditionally the ankle.
This is true for many things in Japanese culture but not all Japanese culture , like Shinto, is not from China and The Japanese kimono is not same as hanfu .....The hanfu influenced Japanese kimono but Kimono is not the same thing as hanfu because the bottom is not the same and the chest is more covered in Japanese kimono and they have an Obi
