I can proudly say this is my Dads song that he wrote and sung. Apparently its picking up some interest - share away and I'm so pleased I can pass onto him these beautiful comments ❤
I moved to Poole in 2014. The old photos are amazing. The town is so different today, I would've loved to see the old ships docked up along side the Quay.
Wow, such an emotional song and fantastic pictures of the past. Memories of stories told to me about fam8ly members from those times were instantly brought back to me watching and listening to this. Thank you.
Love this. Although not from Poole myself I love to visit as my ancestors were 18th C Poole-Newfoundland merchants. One of them, Benjamin Lester, owned the Antelope pub that's still there today. 🍻
Certainly is - you must visit .... see here on Google Maps. www.google.co.uk/maps/@50.7128951,-1.9882102,3a,75y,291.97h,100.71t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1swtkuZAugF7YrKPTR4Aq6dQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656. Out of Order have played in the pub too :-)
In the early scene of riding between trees is demonstrative of one glaring design fail on these bikes. (I have a brand new one) The speedometer is too flat. You are getting sky reflection. The top of the speedo needs to be tilted back at least an inch, maybe 2.
Not a big scrambler fan. Mostly the pipes on your leg and 2in1, or 2. I guess I like the balance of a pipe on both sides. But much of the extras look boss. I am in the middle on blacked out vs chrome. They both have their own super looks. But when the black fades, looks crap. Like old frames. Nice bike tho 👍
Having lived in Poole since 1955, I can relate to this beautiful written and sung song. The coal conveyers scared me to death when I was nipper and seeing the changes over the years have honestly brought tears to my eyes. Thanks for the wonderful post.
Random pop up on RU-vid but very glad I watched. Living in Bournemouth and only going to Poole for the motorbikes, I'd often wonder what it was like back then...👏👏👏👏👏👏 Beautifully put together and a lovely thing to watch with a lump in my throat 😊 Thank you 😇😚😇
Wonderful video showing the passage of time and accompanied with a great shanty, thank you for posting. I remember the harbour from 1944 onwards, I was last back there in 2017
“Why put on some music instead of making the sound of a custom motorcycle exhaust heard? I really don't understand the meaning of it?” Hi Diego, Three reasons: 1. If you watch the complete video you will hear the exhaust sound at the end. If you want three minutes of exhaust sounds then watch my other video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_1qS5SETWXc.html&ab_channel=BlackSheepTitch 2. I am a musician - I am playing violin along with Iron Maiden. 3. But most of all… it’s my video and I decide - make your own if you still don't understand.
@@BlackSheepTitch I will respond with your own arrogance. 1. If you post anything on a public platform that plans to make a judgment, give it a reason, you will receive a judgment. 2. Bragging about piggybacking with famous bands does not guarantee that you will be free from criticism of what you post. 3. To give an opinion on what you publish it is not necessary (and even less required by any rule here on RU-vid) to have made and published videos. 4. We are 8 billion on earth, take into account that you are probably not the keeper of absolute reason. Greetings.
@@dnedcs - I have no reason to brag, the reason for the video is in the description, it is to give details on all the mods - not just the exhaust... likewise you have no right to judge my reasoning, but if you ask I shall reply honestly, after all I am the best Cask Conditioned Celtic Rock Fiddle player in the whole wide world and my Triumph is the bestest ever... :-) I repeat, if you don't understand, go watch a video that you do understand. Not liking my video is absolutely fine by me. Arrivederci amico mio.
my ancestor as irish diaspora arrived in nfld, on the ship records he seems to have come from dorset via a ship of benjamin green. Anyway there are only abt 250 ppl with my name today. dorset had taken us in from erin/n ir(i hear in the 1800s there were many n irish and norfolk there too?) I’m enjoying learning about dorset who adopted us before here. We settled in a small fishing outport and stayed near the water to this day<3 i hope you all are safe and well for winter
None at all mate, lost momentum in the ruts, attempted to hop out of the one I was in and that's what happened. Classic error of looking down and not ahead, should have just bombed it :-)
Where do you get 44 sprocket....can't get any in Australia...also did you have to change chain...also did 1 st gear top out too early with sprocket change...what about top speed🙄🙄🙄
www.classicbike-raisch.de/en/ Orig chain. All gear changes are earlier, that's what I wanted I was changing 2-3 too much now I can stay in 3 on country lanes...it's a personal thing. Same power = same speed, doesn't rev limit in 5th.
Not so far, the very first time I filled it up a (Firearms) cop looked over my shoulder at the pump - he was interested in the bike - I asked him about the plate he said it'd only be flagged up if I was committing so other "proper" crime. Had one camera fine - wasn't mentioned .. I live in Dorset though not some "metropolitan regime" :-)
Brilliant, beautifully written Sea Shanty about my family’s home town of Poole’s fishing history, and the Newfoundland Dogs, known as ‘Poole and Portland’ locally, and the ensuing changes in the town! So glad I’ve just found this!👍💖😊
Hi, I've purchased the same exhaust and I read in the previous comments your dealer remapped the engine (VH mapping apparently alredy exists). Did you also change the air filter? Read on many website that it is very recccomended inc ase of such ehaust installation to let the bike breath more freely and get the most from that.. t
I have put a K&N filter in - I don't think it makes much difference over stock. However removing the snorkel does - dead easy, access from LH side panel one screw, pull out, throw away ;-)
@@BlackSheepTitch thanks... one more question: which is the name of the mapping file? I'm afraid that my Triumph dealer have installed the wrong one... thanks for your help!
