Such a dumb design, love the plywood though. Will you be able to shingle the cricket or is that not wise because of the water coming from all sides + the low pitch?
I've seen worse in my 30 years of shingling. All the new houses are so cut up with dozens of starts nowadays. Happy I'm out and found a new career path.
Brutal, the water that that final gable will take will be nuts, up North that would be an ice dam disaster Nice job bro, architect as per usual insane.
I’ve been doing a lot of repairs last few years andddd. “Jiminy Cricket” I don’t know why the company I was didn’t do this with them. They said rubber, to get mo money out of the h/o. I admire your work. Lads like you, the knowledge ya lads hold is like El Dorado🤟 Kudos for you
The carpenters where I work put up drywall in our boiler shed and didn't clean up any of the drops of drywall mud or dust. Then one of the electricians put three temporary screws in the wall for some reason, but had done put a little drywall mud mix in a solo cup with a plastic butter knife and set it with his tools and was clearly gonna patch his holes when finished, but while he was on a smoke break, one of the carpenters wrote on the drywall with a permanent marker, "WHO PUT THESE SCREWS IN MY WALL??" It's always refreshing to see tradesmen acting like men instead of children
That is the key to successful building. creating a team. At times, subs tend to become complacent or creep their prices up thinking they have the job automatically. The point is to make it as easy as possible for the guy following you. Nice and clean job site too.
Nice, I used to do that if requested by the GC. Only problem is a lot of jobs (especially commercial jobs) don't have flooring these days, just grind the concrete smooth and seal it, so you can't do this.
Just about every Tradesman is a hack and a rip-off artist. General contractors are the worst as they literally do zero work. They just sit back and hire out everybody that is going to subcontract for the job then they sit back and overcharge the customer
So you're saying an owner should find his own subs and project manage the site as well as site supervise it every day? When would the owner have time to make his own money?
@@frankcox748 The amount of money the owner would save from not hiring a general contractor would make up for the lost revenue of their day job. GC's are the worst. You're also better off finding your own labor. GC's will find the CHEAPEST guys that are for hire online. I've witnessed GC's fly in CHEAP LABOR, that did cheap / low quality work And the cheap/ low quality Subs that GC's hire, then upcharge the owner for, are the same shitty subs the homeowners can hire at the end of the day. AND pay less due the fact the subs price wont be inflated from the lying GC!! We all know when a GC hires a sub for the job they will not only lie to the homeowner about the TRUE cost of the sub but they also lie to the sub and negotiate a lower price. Then turn around and charge the owner x2 x3 x4 x5 times the actual subs cost. There literally are special places in hell for rip off artists in the trades. Contractors/ Mechanic/ Plumbers/ Electricians..... ETC Do you really think you all can live the way your living with no consequences? Yeah right. Karma is coming for all of you!
@@frankcox748 the money you would save by NOT using a general contractor would be much greater than any lost revenue from your work. Just remember karma is real and there are special places in hell for ripoff artists in the trades. And if anybody is a trades person reading this and is having bad stuff happen to them in their family, social, or work life... it's because you're a scumbag and deserve it for ripping off so many people. Karma is legitimate! Every time anyone in the trades overcharges a customer / cheats a customer then they better be ready for the karmic Payback.
If your electrician cant read plans, or you are too cheap to pay the architect for an electrical page, and too lazy to do a box walk....I guess this is all you have left.
Definitely helps a bunch and saves everyone time and money ! Sometimes the rough crew doesn’t get updated plans, and many times you end up with a bad placement of switches.
Thank you for your insight and for your comment. Assuming the electrician can understand English this would be fine. But I can spray an arrow just as fast as I can write hinge.
Be careful what you use to draw with on the floor (concrete slab) for placement of fixtures. In my home , the contractor use a bright color paint and it was bleeding through the linoleum flooring.
As a production builder we have the door supplier and trim carpenters do this on every house. They also mark door size. We also have the cabinet company layout their cabinets at this time so the trades can make sure their stuff is well inside the boxes, that the cabinets correspond to the buyer selection and we have adequate clearances in the bathrooms etc.
Yes, we mark the hinge swing (or other function), the handing, and size. on the hinge side of the jamb. It's also just as nice for the builder to have a CURRENT set of plans on the job.
