I’m a mechanic that sold a garage that I started from scratch 22 years ago but I enjoys fixing cars 100 x more
Well after 22 years I sold my garage/shop on the 05/01/2023 and I went out on top , have I retired, hell no 🤠 but it will give me more time with my family and more time to fix cars
All I ask is you be nice ,I’m only human . If you subscribe and ring the bell it’s because you want to ,I don’t ask and really do appreciate it ,because I enjoy doing them for my own mental health. And hopefully help others
Hi Trevor I’ll get the vin number when I get home , the fault is I don’t have any steering wheel controls working at all , the paddle shifts don’t work , the horn works ok and the controls light up on the steering wheel ok , there are no warning amber lights showing either. I did have the warning lights on for the abs , traction control etc and the steering wheel light symbol was on , I have had a new abs sensor fitted and they have all gone out now regards Peter
Hi Trevor great video !, I have a 2013 Audi q3 the horn works ok and there are no airbag light etc on , do you think it’s the squib faulty or could it be a fuse ? Also do yiu happen to have the original part No regards Peter
Reading your message I don’t see what the problem is can you tell me what the fault you ,probably predict text it get me every time 😉😉 If you send me you vin number I can get the original no for u
This was the truck in the rear brake overhaul video . I did this repair last year and that it used the hand brake as a primary for 2 weeks (this was the first time I touched it) And it was fully loaded most of the time 😫😫😫😫😳😳😳🤠 I’m finding videos I made all over the place and I’m trying to learn how to do shorts video The video I want to make is the one about me getting my visa for the states , which is still pending 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 but my job is still there and I’m still looking forward to going
Thank you sir (give’s me something to do when it’s pissing down with rain no change there 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣) I got them off eBay and have them on alert when they come up as places were sell them off for more than 50% cost price So I only have to do one job and the box is paid for
It came with the gasket set I brought off eBay Sadly where I sold the garage it was left at the garage by mistake I been told my paperwork not there I had a full folder on it 😢😢😢😢
Thank you sir for your comment Trying to get information on this vehicle was hell but I got the workshop manual downloaded from Australia ,and i thought I would share something I believe is important to get right
It just say it’s a special tool to remove the hub as it’s a 2021 and looks like it’s got 2 lugs on it Just be nice to know be for stripping it as it’s 540 nm
Hey man, I recently washed my engine bay (have done it multiple times) and directly after starting the engine the check engine light came on and the exact error code that you have. Do you think it is the sensor or did I mess something up in the engine bay?
Hi Trevor, We have a 2019 Trafic with error P0638 Inlet Air Flap Position Control Relay error and have replaced the throttle body and still have this error any ideas or advice would be amazing please? Thanks Tina
Was there any water or oil in the throttle body first if there wasn’t then you need to look at the actuator in the middle of the throttle body and egr valve , 3 months later (tho code came back )I found that code ,You have came back and it was that I must do a follow up video on this and find the video on this I hope this helps
Bought an audi q5 few years ago . I check service history, has engine stripped looking for coolant leaks (2k bill) and after they changed the egr assembly another 800£. Basicly they opened the engine for no reason . Now after 3 years since i bought the car i have this symptoms : car sometimes don’t want to start , cranks until battery goes dead but starts immmediatly with battery starter ( this happens sometimes)and coolant gets out from bottle when i push the pedal more ( making like a foam inside the bottle from preasure ) , very inportant water temperature stays perfect it doesn’t go up on dashboard)Went to mechanic and he says (maybe head gasket) but i have a feeling is again some trouble egr cooler . Car is audi q5 , 2.0tdi , Cglb engine code 2012. On the exaust you can see white smoke sometimes
It’s no good checking this fault with the coloured head gasket fluid as it would give you the same results, from the egr or head gasket failure . Normally with a head gasket failed and I will say normally 😳 the temp gauge goes up on acceleration, if badly gone it will just throw it on of the expansion tank I have another test I’ve videoed but you going to have to find a garage to do this , and this will be easier said than done ru-vid.com/group/PLRdMNFeCZzB65NwSKJEcIQWXUY0ZsKdaA&si=9P5wFYV7ybGkFHKr Where is your location sir
Thank you sir I’m a big fan of texas and hope to be moving there soon once my visa is worked out (can’t be far away as it says pending) Where is your location 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Oh well Trevor what can we say apart from you're a miracle worker lol , where the other garages run to the hills when they saw the wiring on our T4 you took on the challenge and won we are so grateful for all the hard work you done on our van , I think if you couldn't do it we would of scrapped it so we're forever thankful, loved the videos you put on , brilliant work , john
Wow thank you I’m humbled and chuffed to bits with this Still thinking about putting the first video up and not knowing where this was going to go (no pressure) but there is one more video I’ve just been flat out
Same problem with my crafter, changed battery, alternator, found the same wire damages. But with all new staff it worries me that without load there is no charge on the battery, only when you put lights on and etc...
@@trevorchillery1019 looks like working as supposed to, gives 12.5 on cold, then 13.1 on idle, when coasting 14.6, press gas - no charge as to limit emissions) . So confusing ) but as supposed to i guess)
I got them off aliexpress.com Just put “v90 maxus timing tools “takes about 3 weeks but it’s the only place I found them They do the genuine time belt kit too that I fitted and has all ready done 12000 miles
Thank you for your helpful videos! I have the same problem with my 2013 Santa Fe III active hood lift system is displayed to me but nothing happened... I don't understand English that well and need your help to understand 1. Step: replace the glow plug 2. Step: Replace 2x 30A fuses (active hood left & right) in the fuse box under the hood 3. Step: which fuses in the fuse box in the interior should I replace???? Are these the steps you took?
I’m away at the moment sir and I will answer this next week Don’t worry about your English (wear get you there )because I’m still struggling and learning to and that’s the truth 👍👍👍🤣🤣🤠
Sorry I’ve been flat out with work (and sorry I forgot) did your 30 amp fuses blow or are the ok 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 Ok if my fault is the same as yours I need you to check the all the 10 amp fuses (I’ve forgotten )on the left hand side of the fuse box inside the car Label SAS fuse which is 10 amp
It’s a idea as the dlc don’t communicate as there’s not much to this van (no engine ecu old school diesel ), the communication on this old bus is k line But any ideas sir are good as at present I don’t have the answer to this mess
Thank you Thank you Thank you so much, i would never have found this without your video. Now hopefully my car will pass on emissions. This plus many other vacuum leaks on my inlet and crank breather hoses have thwarted me for weeks. I am definitely liking and subscribing
Hi Trevor, I believe I might have the same issue with my Ford Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost, and was wondering if you knew what that actual plastic part is called. Been advised by Ford Mechanics to check that but can’t seem to find anything. Any help would be much appreciated.
Fab video ....had my hg amlng other things sirted under 2 years ago had an overheating issue on trip in devon last august and im thinking its the cooler ..ive reppaced thermostat , belt ect ac condenser rad fkushed twice was bit better with the distilled water etc but raising in exp tank not truly flowing eithet
That was a good one Trevor most would have condemned that Alternator. Got to say that I’ve gained some useful information thanks to yourself and johnfountain 8143🙏
because you car has automatic stop/start and AGM battery your car automatically chooses when to charge the battery, so after you start the engine it may not charge the battery straight away, the charging system is disconnected giving more power at the wheels and fuel saving and reduced emissions , all of the electricity being used by the car is coming from the battery, the charging system waits until the car has unused energy available, say coasting down a hill or using the brakes its then able to charge the battery very fast with what would have been wasted energy this can save upto 10% of your fuel costs and have a big effect on your vehicle emissions it will also postpone charging until engine is at running temperature unless there is a risk of a depleted battery
Thank you sir it was only a gut feeling of watching the data and thinking out of the box You certainly help me understand this system a lot more ,so it could be used for the dpf regeneration as well 🤔🤔🤔🤔
You have a request in the video about some parameters to start charging the battery, possibly something to do with temperature? Can you put that in a Comment with your post on DDTSB, I am guessing that not loads of members will also watch the video but will read your post and possibly give you an answer. cheers. Has anybody changed this alternator? If the wrong part number was installed, it might not be speaking the same LIN header??
I’ve got another one on a 2021 vw crafter no charge at start for 30 seconds then 13.8 to 14v 😳😳faults code in gate way ,generator no signal (been to a few shops ) Coming back next weekend this one could be a interesting one to @@kevinpalmer7452
I got a steering angle sensor fault on my one. Why remove the air bag and steering wheel if your not striping the column? Simon Rafferty has answered my next question about the possibility of doing it in place. Thanks for the video, helps to have a idea before starting.
The older I get sir I personally like to remove everything out the way and find it easier to put it back together, with out problems and I hate struggling to and find I have more faults or something broken later i possibly could of caused But each to there own I just find it less stressful on Modern cars
You are the best mate! I did it on my BMW Series 2 active tourer. I was getting mad after reaching the TCB unit I couldn’t remove the battery cuz it was facing a metallic part of the car body… then I see your video and there’s a switch to unlock the whole tcb and bring it out.. mission accomplished the error has disappeared and the SOS call works again. 30€ battery ordered online took 1 month delivery Bmw service Cork Ireland asked me 200€.. see ya! 😂
