When I first started going to the Timonium show back in 2004, you had to park in the light rail station at Deerco Road as the fairgrounds lot was always full.
The Light Rail is a pretty small system compared to other light rail systems, only a singular north/south line that has 3 branches, one to Penn Station (which is currently closed), one to BWI (where you can take a free shuttle to the rail station and connect with MARC/Amtrak, and Cromwell (with a shopping center across the street). The cars are refurbished 1992/93 ABB LRVs (refurbed by Alstom) which have a top speed of 60 mph, but on the mainline the fastest segments are 50 mph. It usually takes an hour to take the whole line from Hunt Valley-BWI or Cromwell. Trains are not really that frequent, because some trains can take longer or shorter than others. The BLR has been a part of my childhood, I love taking the trains just for fun.
New sub here! I was at the show Saturday for a RU-vid Model Railroad Meet & Greet. There will be another YT M&G in October. I will be announcing the date/time on my channel. I host the Fall M&G and Im the local liaison for the Spring M&G
