Yes Vodafone is looking good, getting 931 download currently. BT prior to this was around 450. I have the Vodafone pro 2 with 6E router and mesh. The speed I am getting is ethernet connected to the mesh/booster with wifi backhaul, so all in all very good
@@smig72 It should be, the pro 2 mesh router and boosters are excellent quality, only thing is there isnt much you can configure but saying that there isnt much need as they seem to run perfect, I am a PC gamer and ping is perfect!
Vodafone is really good on upload compared to virgin media, for example I have 360mb package from virgin and the upload is just 36mbwhich is really bad, should be 360mb
That what really attracted me to Vodafone. The upload speed and cost were the 2 big issues I had with Virgin, the service was fine for me otherwise. I have just had cause to get in touch with Voda, my Wired items kept dropping out, I thought the router had gone bad . I gave them a ring and they updated the router software whilst I was still on the phone with them and then phoned me back over the next couple of days and did checks at there end to see if things were still working. I must say that I was very impressed.
Looking at getting Vodafone but its not possible for anyone to be digging any channels across our shared driveway, I'm sure there's fibre all the way down the street , but not to the property, what do they do about this ?
@@smig72 an ONT ( optical network terminal) converts the light coming through your fiber into electrical signals that can pass through the copper Ethernet cable and out to ur router and computers
Mine came with land-line on the same fibre, I don't use it. There was no charge for installation and it was installed via the telegraph pole, I was glad as my previous virgin install came in through the garden wall, bit of a messy job
Hello bud. I just got this 910mb wifi today however ive never seen above 600mbps its always around 300-400 when im close to the router and around 200 when im far. Whats the issue?
Hi mate, just wondering hows the ping and speeds so far? Im currently at the end of my virgin media contract and wanting to change provider and also in leeds, but only openreach network in my area for now but vodafone told me i can just switch to the city fibre network once they are in my area and are offering the 900mbps package for £36 per month
Hello mate, I have just taken a speedtest.net on my phone on wifi and the Ping is currently 8ms. You can't go wrong for £36 and for me it is still running trouble free, no buffering while we are all on it. I can't complain mate and I will definitely stay with them when renewal time comes round.
I'm glad to see that they are still doing the £29 introductory 2 year deal. I hope I can still negotiate a similar price again at the end of my 2 year.
I have been with Virgin media, i started off paying £30 per month but iver the years the oruce has been going up, currently paying £81 for virgin, they now want me to pay £97 per month. Im also only getting about 18-20 mbps. Vodafone citifibre have promiced my a minimum of 455 mbps and at only £39 per month. Im going to switch next month. Virgin media have just gotten greedy and slow over the years.
Hey Steve what ethernet cable do you use, and also do you have the wifi 6e booster? If you do have the wifi 6E booster can u test if there is a big difference without it on wi-Fi, cheers!
Cheers mate am getting average 300 on both with test on wifi seems low as advertise 900. Waiting on Vodafone getting back to me. Cheers for the fast reply mate👍
@craigm7821 I don't know if it's my phone or not but I never get much more than 500/550. I just hope it doesn't go up massively from the £34 I currently pay at the end of the 2 year deal. Take care mate
Hi, I'm not too savvy regarding ping and jitter but after a little reading it appears that 17 milli seconds is quite good. Have a read through this and I hope it helps you thegeekstreet.com/lower-your-ping/
Morning mate, ping is still very low, will update this post after work with the actual ping mate. Never dropped out as of yet, would recommend mate. The lowest speed that I have ever had was in the region of 850 up and down, that was one weekend at peak times.
I have used a few different VPNs in the past and never achieved anywhere near these kind of speeds. I would guess that most people are still using ISPs that still offer very slow upload speeds, there will be many factors that slow things considerably.
I just switched today from Sky to Vodafone 900 FTTP, will be installed Dec 1st. Can't wait to say goodbye to 3mbps download speed. How's it going so far since your activation?
@@lovejetfuel4071 Pretty good. WiFi on the router itself is a bit crap but installed a TP Link Deco M9+ mesh network which massively improves it. Getting about 400-700mbps round the house. I plugged my laptop in and got 937mbps! Also, no disconnects. My Sky Broadband would drop connection several times, it even happened 17 times in a single day!
Wow ! that’s fantastic speeds! the ping is very low aswell. I’ve currently got Vodafone Superfast 2 FTTC which is still good but at the moment we do not have the FTTP available in my area.
Its getting City Fibre to actually come thats the problem. They keep cancelling their installation appointments without any reason, and then it takes weeks to get another, which they then cancel. Endless merry go round.
CityFibre came to install mine via a Vodafone contract and when the team arrived they couldn't do the install as the telegraph pole was deemed unsafe and also was at capacity for cables! Overall not impressed with CityFibre offering high speed internet but not actually being able to deliver.........in our street at least 🤬 😢😢
@@smig72 No😏 In my area, the connections are made from the telegraph poles. CityFibre did formally contact me to tell me that they do not 'own' the poles and that the responsibility for the poles is held by OpenReach and so if CityFibre need to utilise that pole, they have to go cap in hand to OpenReach to ask for the required works to be carried out and that currently, it could be a 12 month wait for that to happen. Funnily enough though, I have spoken to BT who are apparently OpenReachs primary customer and they have stated that OpenReach say that there is a connection available on the pole to my house! This possibly/maybe means that OpenReach 'reserve' connections for BT and providers like CityFibre are put to the back of the queue ??? Anyway, I've booked for a BT installation in a couple of weeks so I'll see how it all turns out 🙏 If all goes well, I'll finally be able to break free from the monopoly that VirginMedia currently have in this area with their fibre optic network!!!
@@smig72 Not everywhere it's possible to deliver undeground. I've got also Vodafone from Cityfibre since 18months so far. Got earlier VirginMedia. So happy that I was able to show middle finger to Virgin. To the point. I just got fibre cable throught pole to my house.
CityFibre operate they own infrastructure. Did you see they teams burring they infrastructure on your street some time ago? If you didn't, they might be sent by Vodafone to connect you to someone's else network. Vodafone use thirds party networks.
Hi Joe, working like a dream mate. I haven't had to restart the router at all and speeds are pretty consistent. Even though we have more devices, no one has had any buffering whatsoever.
I have just bought this package and was with Virgin. I am quite excited for these speeds it looks great but I've seen people with problems through Vodafone
@Joe-vn6cb with Virgin I would run it in modem mode and have another good quality wireless router upstairs, which I still have but haven't had a need to set that back up at the moment.
@aftabsaquib1892 Hi, that's really why I made the video, I had only seen fairly poor reviews also, so thought it a good idea to put a positive one on. They are building a further 100 houses fairly locally just now, there almost done, let's see if the demand effects things over the next 6 months or so. I hope not 😩
I used to spend many times away with work and as you know, one hotel is very much like another. This place was some kind of hotel overflow cottages in Gretna. I was very lucky to stay there. Be well Kevin :)
Looks to me like you have a corroded phone line, high pings almost always means noisey phone line. The bad news is these lines always pass talktalk's own internal diagnostics so they will try to fob you off. What you need to do is demand the issue is escalated to an open reach engineer (not the talktalk bright spark engineer), tell them there is noise on the line. I had the same problem, after the new line was fitted my speed went from 3mbps to 23mbps. The whole process took over 1 year to do and talktalk gave me compensation of just £8. Unfortunately fibre isn't available in my area but I'm more than happy with my ADSL speed now.
