It only takes a moment to come back to presence when I listen to him. I’m nearly in tears sometimes, because I can’t seem to remember how to just be still. It can be so frustrating, like being possessed by something that literally feels like it’s controlling me, even though I’m aware.. it really is just so difficult now, when it seemed much much easier for me a decade ago. Eckhart is a miracle worker.. he really has changed my life. Listening to him reminds me of the truth about what I am, and what you are. He helps center me quickly in the most stressful of times. I am forever grateful for people like this, and he continuously inspires me to dedicate my life to understanding truth, which is the unconditional love that is what we are.
Read first, dont waste your time listening to all this mumbo jumbo about shit you just spent a lifetime fumbling through...no solutions here. Maybe helpful to a generation in their late 20s or early 30s but there are so many other influencers out there these days with way better content and solution oriented. Are you kidding me? I normally read a few comments before i commit to listening to a 3hour 33 minute book/podcast. Just lost respect for the author, at 63 yrs old I came from the broken home syndrome, lived a life stumbling from one addiction to another and then... whats the point ...I waited to hear one solution to all these spiritual issues i inadvertently stored in my body and built walls around my heart and not one solution did I hear to repair all the damage He just blew all that air around beating the issue of emotional immaturity and the damage it does to the mind and heart.
Books are not the answers! Take a break from media, books, people, and activities at different times in your day. Just sit and listen to your heart (it knows the answers). Books were only made to point you to the main source of healing, which is your own soul. As you go about your day, try to be aware of any negative thoughts pulling you down, and breathe deeply. As Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh would say, become mindful of your breath to “Ride the Storm.” of tough emotions. When I stopped searching outside myself, I found hidden resentment and stored anger from all of the rejection I faced in my life, and being an outcast. When you first begin the practice of being “Still” with no books, media, or any other distractions, your mind will tell you “This is pointless, I will never be able to heal.” However the deeper you go, the more you begin to realize it’s a miracle to be alive. To able to feel emotions, go through suffering, and overcome. It’s a miracle to have eyes to see the beautiful blue sky and ears to hear the birds sweet tunes. We all have pain and suffering within us, and the point of life is to overcome the pain and hardships so that we can teach others “The Way,” and help them heal themselves. This brings self-realization. When we help others we undoubtedly help ourselves as we are part of the same consciousness. You can’t have a lotus flower without mud.” - Thich Nhat Hanh ❤️
So glad someone shared this, listened to this 3 years ago and somehow not Available on RU-vid anymore. Much delighted to cross paths with it again ❤. Appreciated. Stillness Speaks
