This show left me wanting more but not in a good way. The ending is so abrupt and comes with so little build-up that it just ruins the rest of it for me.
They play really well and there are a few moments I find as crowd pleasers but the show design feels very boring except the opening moment and solos. They are almost too big of a band
My grandfather played this in church on his trumpet. It is when I truly understood the joy of music, it didn’t need to be a major cord to bring comfort but this minor key holds so much hope and resilience in it I just wish I could sit in that choir loft forever and listen to him play
Sounds pretty good, but I've never heard that song anywhere else before... seriously they play it so well. I can't wait to see the full show this year!
It's marching band what do you expect, shows / ideas / pieces are recycled all the time lol they just have their own twist on it. If you think something is original, there are 200+ schools around the country that did it sometime over the past 50+ years lol
No, that's Allen H.S. with their 700-member marching band. 😆 In all seriousness, the closest I've seen was another Texas band: Sundown H.S. from up in the panhandle. A few years ago their marching band was 110 kids out of 169 total enrollment at the school. They've been a great 1A/2A UIL band for many years.
Meh. They "leaked" their show in 2019 as well and still won Nationals. It doesn't matter. You don't really know the quality of a show until it's fielded. Secrecy doesn't seem to correlate with success; it better correlates with paranoia from staff who think their lame ideas will be stolen.
All high school shows pretty much have their musical selections and have them composed by the beginning of summer so it wouldn’t matter. Also they’ve been doing this reveal for a few years now.
