I’m a freshman in high school and was wondering if I have to have athletic achievements? I work out and stuff but I don’t actually do anything that’s tracked like a school sport or anything
I got in ED ‘28. I remember watching this video during the admissions cycle, and I just felt reminded of it. I'm very grateful for your advice! Thank you so much, Ralph!
Hey Ralph, I watched your “How I got into Cornell” video while I was applying ED a few months back, and I'm thrilled to tell you that I got accepted to A&S ED in December with intention to be a physics major. Thank you for your inspiring video! -Bobby, ‘28
Congratulations! First year in college is the hardest but once you get over the bump youll be fine. I took summer classes at Cornell but ended up studying at Syracuse University.
bruh so if you dont have at least a 3.9 unweighted gpa or 35 act just don't apply to an ivy lol... so happy i took cornell off my common app list... i stand no chance
Hey man, was wondering if you had a good comp sci teacher and if that helped you get 5s. I had a bad teacher so I got 4s but idk if the teacher was the issue.
My teacher actually gave us these lecture packets that he kind of recycled from past years and made us teach ourselves. The packets themselves were helpful, but I’m not sure if that method counts as good teaching imo…
hey Ralph, I recently shifted into the United States in the beginning of my junior year. I am doing 5 AP's this year and 6 AP's in my senior year. I plan to take the SAT in march 2024. Since I shifted into the United States only in the beginning of my junior year , will 5 aps be too less as I plan to apply for Early decision. Will the colleges understand that i could only take 5 aps as i came to the States only 1 year prior to applying ?
Hey! Don’t worry, colleges will understand this since it will be in the first section of your application-it should actually be the one of the first things they read if I’m not mistaken. Hope that helps!
I have a question mate , do US Universities really need my previous years stats ? because I'm at 12th grade but my previous years were bad but I'm studying very much this year so I predict myself to get around 99% ( I live in The UAE )
Hey Ralph, thanks for the excellent video! I'm actually applying to Cornell ED for econ major soon as well as an international student, and I was wondering if I could get some advice regarding different parts of the application. I think I got a pretty similar academic profile as yours with a 4.0 unweight GPA, 9 AP classes with 8 scores of mostly 5s with some 4s, a 1530 SAT and a 114 TOEFL. My parents and counselors kept telling me to improve my standardized test scores further but I feel like now's about the time I focus on making me stand out in other ways among all the Asian students applying who probably all have insane grades and all that. Any thoughts that you'll be able to share?
