Hello and welcome to Amer’s Angle Fishing channel.
My name is Amer Jawad, I have been fishing since I was 11 years old. I started out like many joining a local club to get me out and about to a variety of different venues. Rivers, lakes, canals and even abroad. This gave me a great insight into many different disciplines in the Angling world. I learnt very quickly, and soon started to seek new challenges in the match fishing world. At the age of 16 I won a major intermediate event and soon got involved in team fishing. This made my progress even quicker as I joined teams like Browning Hotrods, Essex County and Starlets. I also represented Wales at world level. A former Fish’o’mania finalist and countless festival successes abroad, and until recently, a general manager for a major fishing tackle brand. I hope this channel passes on the knowledge that I have gained over the years in the world of Angling.
Sorry ...dimwit here. So, if u have say a 4sg ( with a bit of weight in the float ,say 10-20% of the overall float) I just shot as in the pattern described that essentially shots the float as you.d normally do. You then add another shot to overweight it and then adjust the knot to get depth, in your case 1ft over. What am i missing? Great vid , good depth ...tips etc Thnx.
I tried it for the first time today on a local fishery but just felt I was getting battered of slivers, didn’t land one fish on the feeder, swapped to a moving bomb rig and started catching straight away.
Hopefully trying the slider for the first time next week. Stumbled across this video. Great info. Will hopefully save a ruined day through tangles. First video of yours I've watched and already subscribed!
Just found this bloke, what a natural teacher. Brilliant vid, full of top tips, no stupid music, hard selling, or overdone cinematography, just perfect.
One of my favourite methods. I would recommend veg oil over washing up liquid to prevent transfer onto your hookbait. Plus a quick change float adapter folds/collapses the float faster on strikes. Also harder skinned balls of groundbait are less prone to breaking up on impact an get to the bottom without breaking up, if they break up on impact the fish come up off the bottom over the course of the session. Picked up a couple of good tips here cheers.
little confused about the clip. so i cast out to just past where i want to fish. clip up, reels in some turns, lift bail arm again to let float settle. 71 year old senior moment lol. fabulous video
Thank you Brian, once you have found the correct distance/depth you want to fish at, you need to fish to that spot accurately. To do this you need to find that spot every time. To do this you need to cast to the line clip and draw the float back to the desired spot. I put at least 4-5 turns on the reel and then sink the rod tip mans reel back: then flick the rod upwards to sink any floating line that may remain on the surface. That will put the float right to where you plumbed up as this is what you did to find the correct distance and depth. Hope this helps
It’s a great question. Usually during the warmer months is when you will get the best results with a pellet waggler. But what intend to do is feed pellets (8mm) over the same line I would also fish a method feeder. Then I would start on the method and come shallow if I see signs of fish feeding in the upper layers, or if there method is slow and line bites the only indications.
Hi Martin, it’s an 11ft Daiwa Tournament waggler rod. Line is 6lb Daiwa Hypersnsor main line. I will up it to 8lb for venues where there is a chance of larger fish. 6lb (0.22) helps fish and cast smaller floats which cause less disturbance.
Hi Alan, the float stops can’t be reused. They are very inexpensive and can’t be left set up for countless uses unless you need to break the rod down each time.
Thank you Julian, the rod I am using in the video is a 13’2ft waggler/float rod. For those shorter distances, up to 30m it’s more than capable. Anything further I’ll use a 14ft version. No need to look for anything different in the way of eyes. Make the sliding knots with nothing heavier than 0.17 diameter line and nothing finer than 0.14. Too fine it beds into the main line, anything too thick will cause restrictions in the line passing through the eyes. Make sure you leave at least an inch of tag from the knot. This helps the knot pass through the smaller rings. Hope this helps
Yes another nice video fishing my absolute favourite method. Love the reel but that tournament rod despite a nice action 2'' too long in the handle. I use the Free Spirit Hi S and Supera X both sensible length handle. Tournament Pro 3010 reel. Love your tip on two float stops above too l'll do that now, and l also do the larger main line long. Great thanks
Did you use a line clip??.......how can you pay the line out if you are clipped up....? Clipped up twice???. Trying to find a new method for my local Bough beach.
Hi Matthew, yes I did clip up. It’s a case of hitting the clip and reeling back a few turns with the rod tip submerged. Then whip the rod tip up at a slight angle to bring the float to the same point each time. Then release the bail arm and pay out the line accordingly. I use measuring sticks too in case I lose my distance. I hooked a carp this day and it ran me to the clip. I was able to get the distance back after netting the carp because I measured up. Hope this helps
@@AmerJawad-jj4ib I use a marker to mark the line near the clip or even use a sliding knot in there. Then its easy to have the distance back after an "uncliped fish". Just overcast, reel back the line to the marked portion and clip it back. Of course, if you measure it up with the bank sticks or other measuring method its easier to get the distance back even if you get a line break (which in the first given case would be nearly impossible if the line breaks between the reel and the float) Thank you for the informative video.
Great first film ..just coming back too match fishing after 12 years....but like l say......slight William R problem....but like l say....yourself and Will are super Match angler's. Dream fish there.
I did mention the reason John. The swim I fished had a channel running through to another part of the lake. Those carp are notorious for pulling you through the channel which is full of snags. You can’t give them an space as I didn’t. I feel that fishing direct gives me more fish control in these situations. I hooked 11 and got 11 in.
