Question: I know the ending didn’t portray this part well, but isn’t dying supposed to mean the spirit is free. Sure, Eren has committed a huge sin to humanity and is likely going to be punished, but since this anime isn’t really related to real religion/mythology, wouldn’t Eren be considered “free” when his spirit is no longer suffering from all the torment and pain he had been through? Just asking only.
The past does not repeat itself…but it does rhyme…I often keep thinking of Ymir of how she enter the tree out of fear from dogs chasing her, now a supposed new Ymir enters the tree along with his dog companion. Entering not out of fear but out of curiosity and for what may come….
@@Epiccatboi not the war….the tree. It’s implied by the last scene of the series that tentacle bug thing that was responsible for the titans true origin, specifically the founding titan in Ymir Fritz, was reborn or still alive bc the tree has now grown 10x its size. And that little boy is now going to restart the cycle once he goes inside the tree like Ymir did.
I really really really want a few episodes where they show where that Source of all living matter; that freaky spinal creature came from. Did it affect other animals?
It's still terrifying to see that Issayama makes a superhuman effort to criticize fascist and the cult of personality so that his fans glorify a genocidal mass killer. Issayama explained that he wanted to have an ending to The Mist but that due to his young audience this ending would have been impossible. Imagine making a manga whose theme is to caricature humanity so that 80% of fans think it is a love story. the end of the manga is better because it indicates more that eldia is becoming a totalitarian and fascist state which is being destroyed by an alliance. If you are happy for the Eldians or you choose an Alore side you have not understood what Isayama is trying to send as a message. you are completely missing the point
I don’t think humanity forgot about Eren and everything that happened, considering the world outside of the island was relatively advanced so they could keep history intact. I think that AOT wanted to show that despite what happened humanity simply moved on back to its basics. For example, the black plague that attacked Europe and wiped out 2/3 of its population didn’t stop Europe from starting 2 world wars. Point being that a near extinction event won’t necessarily bring humanity together
The outside world nuked Paradis for bloody revenge after the Rumbling failed to destroy 20% of humanity. Their going to make the Eldians deaths slow and painful as possible.
This is my first time watching the ending after i finished the manga in 2021. I do not recall that final scene in the manga, it's not supposed to be there, it's ruining Eren's ending.
Idk if this is canon or not but I remember seeing somebody say Mikasa was crying because she forgot what Eren looked like symbolized by his hair being covered
